They all get out of the line and Max walks back to his backpack and finish packing it. Hope they serve food, I'm starving!

Most of the men hurry to retreat to tent 03, but I already expect something like this afternoon. Long queues, and waiting for hours if we don't get lucky. So I have no rush to get there at all. I go back to my own backpack and I find the package of PallMall cigarettes. I shove it into the pocket of my jeans, and want to zip the bag up again. I then realize something though. The ivory white envelope that was on top of everything else all the time is gone. The envelope with the money that the Watsons gave me. I frown and rummage through my stuff, looking for it. But it's no longer there. I hurriedly think about what must've happened. I opened that envelope, counted the money and put it back. Who was there? EVERYBODY was there, of course! ...sh!t. SH!T!
I turn on my heels and face the guy in the bed next to mine, who's also busy with his bag. "Hey you! Were you here all the time?" I ask, not remembering whether he went outside or not.

He looks up at him. "All the time when? After I got back from my smoke?"

That smoke, of course. Sh!t! "Did you see anyone go through my bag?" I ask. I mean, it might as well have been *him*, but *not* asking won't get me anywhere either!

"Sh!t.." I sigh and sit down on the matress again. I draw a hand through my hair. Asking him whether he took my money is useless - of course he would deny if he did, and of course he would deny if he didn't. So the answer is already predictable enough to forget about the question all-together. A hundred f*cking bucks. I bet Sandra chipped in too. And I lost it within a day. Awesome.

He looks at him as he seems pretty distressed. "You lost something?"

"...Yeah." I pull the bag onto my lap and search through it once more, just to make sure. "An envelope." I mumble.

He looks around on the floor around him. This is why I don't feel too okey with opening my bag around here... he spots something white laying a bit away in the middle of the narrow path between the bunkbeds in the tent and he walks over to it and picks it up and turns it over in his hand. It is an envelop but doesnt say a name on it or anything. He holds it up and looks at him; "Maybe this?" he walks over to him. "must've gotten swept away while someone walked past. You should keep it in your bag and have it closed" he holds the envelop out for him.

"Yeah that's it!" I snatch the envelope. I HAD it in my bag, and I HAD it closed. That's why I fear exactly that what turns out to be true, as I slip the envelope open. There's nothing in there. Someone took the money and dropped the envelope that was then useless to him.
I look at the empty envelope for a while, turn it over, and then fold it in two. I look up and meet that guys gaze again. I smirk, trying not to seem disappointed because obviously he can't help it either. "Hey, thanks." I put the white rectangle away in my bag.
