Aÿla got angry, she couldn't just sit there on her horse and watch them getting beaten up so she urged her horse to run towards them and made him rear up infront of the King, making him fall backwards and all the guards ran to his rescue. She put her horse down infront of Demitri and Allegra and stared at the King. "Thought people like yourself ought to have some manners! Just because we don't happen to be born with a golden crown on our heads doesn't mean we're to be crawling for such a likes as you!"
she would probably get in real trouble for this, but she wasn't gonna let anyone push her or other gypsies like her down anymore. She might not have been born under the best circumstances, but her heart was at the right place and she still had her pride.

I've been looking at all the commotion with pursed lips, sitting in the carriage. Just one more outburst of unhappy people of the Kingdom... the ones, illsatisfied with my 'father's' politics... I shake my head slightly and sigh quietly.
I am tired of it.

"I am not gonna listen what you have to say, filthy gypsy! You're no better than any of the rest of you! Take her!"
the guards walked up to Aÿla to drag her down from her horse "No! Stop it!" the horse reared and neighed but Aÿla found herself in the hands of the guards anyway. great.. she looked at the King with angry eyes.
"get on your knees!"
Aÿla didn't, so the guards pushed her down to her knees.

I bite my lip slightly, my eyes flashing with anger. I shift uncomfortably in my carriage, making my Mother look at me strictly. Oh, I don't care. I am tired of everything, tired of this King... I take a deep breathe and try to calm down, but it seems to be useless. Absolutely useless.
I can't do it... I can't... can I? If not now, then when? I am sick and tired of everything. And especially of seeing the King every day... there's only one way-out, right?..
"Let her go", - my hoarse and angry voice sounds over the shocked crowd. A princess isn't supposed to contradict her father, right?.. I couldn't care less.

He grumbles when he hears his daughter and he turns around
Aÿla lifts up her head to see what's going on, but a guard pushes her head down again
"Natalie, I'm only saying this once; do not speak up to me, I am simply doing my job!" he turns towards Aÿla again. "and you are gonna dance for me"
the guards pulled her up from the ground. "No!"
"disobeying the words from the King? 10 blows with the whip!"
a guard took out a long whip and walked up to Aÿla. She struggled, but couldn't get away so she closed her eyes tightly, waiting for the whip to come down on her back

"And I am only saying this once as well: F*CK OFF", - I tell him loudly enough for everyone around us to hear, my eyes blazing with hatred towards him, and my cheeks blushing, 'cause, actually, it's not very usual for me to tell the King to f*ck off in front of so many people. It's the first time at all, to be honest. But I've been driven to the point when I can't put up with my life anymore.
I look at the gaping crowd, at all the shocked people who're staring at me as if I were a monster or a ghost or someone as unreal, and narrow my eyes slightly. They don't know. No one does. Even my mother.
When the guard is lowering the whip to hit the gypsy-woman, I come up to him in one swift movement and grab his hand, looking him into the eyes: "You won't hurt the Princess, now will you?" - I whisper, raising an eyebrow.
"Run", - I say absuptly to the gypsy. And I'll have to run with her... 'cause God knows what will happen to me now...
"Daughter... what are you doing? - my mother mutters in the carriage and faints.

Aÿla breathes heavily and looks at them confused and then back at the girl who seems to be helping her. she looks at Demitri and Allegra, but they're surrounded by guards. She straightens up though, "Let them go" I can't leave without my only friends...can I?

By now, the guards are standing movelessly, staring at the whole scene and mostly at me, 'cause what I have just done is... mildly speaking, very unexpected. I can almost feel the eyes of the Kind burning a hole through me, I feel the hatred in his look, and if I just looked at him, mine would be as full of loathing. It's mutual, and he knows that. Except for the fact that he has no reasons to hate me, and I do.
But now I have no other choice but to do what I've been dreaming of for so long. Leaving him. Going away. I have no choice now anyways.
Using the guards' shock, I take ahold of myself and order them strictly and loudly: "Let all them go. NOW", - I try to keep my voice from quavering slightly, and I kneel down to the gypsy, whispering in her ear quickly and quietly: "Take me with you, you have to".

"NO!" the King roars back. "you are following MY orders! I am the King! I order you to take these gypsies to my jail! NOW!"
the guards look from the princess to the King, but then drag Demitri and Allegra up on their feet and they get handcuffed and led away.
Aÿla looks at it with horror. "NO!" but she can't do anything to stop them.
he glares at Natalie. "You, young lady are making a big mistake! In to the carriage with your mother and we'll discuss this later!"

And now is the time when I feel a cold shudder going down my spine. I can't go back... I will be dead before tomorrow morning if I stay within his reach... I can't go back. I close my eyes for a split of a second, trying to make my brain work, 'cause now is the time when I have to come up with something.
I spot a horse not far from us, tied to a tree, and it's our only chance.
Licking my dry lips, I whisper at the gypsy-woman: "With the signal, run to the horse and untie it", - having said that I come even closer to the guard who's holding the girl, smile at him slightly, knowing that he won't ever dare touch the Princess, just 'cause he'd be executed for that, and, coughing to give the gypsy a promised signal, I kick the guard in the groin with all my strength, making him release the girl.
"Now run!" - I hiss at her and start running towards the horse.
