Liz starts to collect wood and makes a small fire, baking some bacon and preparing the rest of the food. She sits next to the fire, her back turned towards him. She has pulled her hat deep over her eyes, protecting them from the stinging sun. On her knees she has one of the books, going through the pages carefully as she reads it.

It's awefully quiet now. Only the sound of the fire and when Liz is turning a page in the book is heard. Peace and quiet...nice... even Matts horse has fallen asleep as it stands beside him tied by the tree

Van Helsing and Rain had been traveling by horse day in and day out now for quite some time. They'd been riding all day today, only stopping to give short breaks for the horses. He was a bit irritated, although he'd gotten over it by now, but Rain insisted that she wouldn't ride on a horse like a man and with her riding side saddle, it was adding to the time it took. And this is why I travel alone. Van Helsing shook his head, thinking to himself. But he did enjoy her company and the fact that everytime he got too hot or cold, Rain could fix it quite easily-- although just like brother and sister they would bicker over it for at least a minute. He'd already promised to buy her four new books when they got to Greece in a trade for her changing the weather.
Rain yawned into her hand and ran a hand through her hair. She wore a black cloak over her tan, creamy dress underneath and she mostly kept the hood down on the cloak. Her horse was a chesnut mare and since she rode side saddle, the horse was always forced to go a bit slower, not that in the heat the horse really didn't seem to mind. "Van Helsing!" She shouted and pointed as her eyes caught on the smoke coming from a nearby group of trees.
Van Helsing had seen it already and he winced when she yelled, "Not the best time to shout out, Rain." He muttered, hoping for their sake it was only a wanderer. He slipped off the side of his horse and took the reins of both his and Rain's and made them walk slowly as he approached the trees.

Liz looked up when she heard horses come closer to where they were. She quickly put the book away, hiding it under some cloth before getting onto her feet, taking hold on her pistol. She looked at Matt who was still asleep, wondering for a moment if she should wake him up. She decided not to do so though, since she should be able to handle this herself.. and if not.. she could try to scream. Liz walked to the trees and stood behind one of them so it would look more like Matt was alone. Her pistol was ready to shoot as she waited for the people to come closer.

Matt's horse fluttered its eyes opened by the feeling of another presence coming closer and it looked over to where two other people with two other horses came walking towards them. It moved its ears and shifted on its hooves as it let out snorts. Matt was too tired to notice anything right now, even if he heard the horse vague in the back of his head among his dreaming

Rain relaxed a little when she saw Matt, still atop the horse, "Oh, it's just a boy..."
"And someone else." Van Helsing was quite aware that the place was set up for two people. He still held one of his long pistols out and his eyes swept around the area, "Come out, and I will have no cause to shoot you!"

Liz looked at the horses and the people on them as soon as they came into view. A man with a dark long jacket and a hat and a woman. She narrowed her eyes a little bit. Normally the dangerous people in these eara's weren't women, but you could never be too sure about that. Matt still sounded asleep and she made a face, regretting that she didnt wake him up.

Van Helsing had a better sense than most for when someone was hiding and eventually he pointed his gun right at the tree Liz stood behind, "Come out."

Okay, they were deffinately not nice. That was for sure.. She narrowed her eyes, knowing that whoever told her to get out was not joking. Very slowly she moved around the tree, holding her pistol ready to shoot since she didn't trust the guy.

Matt awoke by the sound of Van Helsings voice, he blinked some before his vision cleared and he saw a man and a girl. He gasped slightly and scrambled up on his feet
