The next day, it's snowing, and I have to drag myself to school. . .and most of all drive slow in the Volvo. Under 85. I hopped out of the car onto the ice, not slipping at all not cold, while other kids made an almost comical show of trying to stand upright as they made their way to their morning classes. Then, I catch the squeal of tires. . .and I can't believe what I see. Bella is about to be crushed by a mini van.
I struggle with myself for a second before I dart twenty feet(so fast that no one can see me, although I'm sure that Bella has seen me standing by my car, which will be a problem, if she lives through this), and lift her out of the way of the van with one hand, leaving dents in the side of it. Both of us land flat on the ice, and I think she hits her head. Luckily, she didn't bleed.
I can see Alice, Emmett, Rosalie, and Jasper staring at me disapprovingly from a little away.

Everything turns black for a second or so when my head hits the ground but then everything starts to get clearer again, eventhough my head hurts like hell.
The world seems to spin a bit harder then normally but when everything comes back into focus again I see Edward next to me, laying on the ice.
I'm really sure he was next to his car not even 10 seconds ago though..

I pull her to her feet, flinching away. "Careful," I mutter. "You hit your head pretty hard."
I suppose someone had called an ambulance by then, because they were pulling the kid who'd been driving our of the car. Tyler. Much to Bella's protest, they made her get in, too. Actually, it was me that did.

(*waves* ta!  ) Once I'm in the ambulace I think over again what happened. Something isn't right.. It doesnt make sense. For the next few hours I dont have time to think about it though, seeing people are checking if everything is okay with me after that crash onto the street. |

I venture through the hospital halls, smiling at familiar faces, to Bella's room. She's sitting up, evidently feeling fine if not a little dazed. Tyler, however, looks a lot more beaten up. I find it a lot easier to resist her when I'm well fed, but it's still a little painful. I perch lightly on the edge of her bed.
Tyler was worthy of making amends to anyone. he begins to apologize, and I lift a hand to stop him. "No blood, no foul." I flash him a quick smile. "So, what's the verdict?" I turn to Bella.

At first when I saw Edward dart toward her, I was terrified, but when I relized he had actually saved her, and not attacked her, I had been relieved. In all he really saved us all from having to resist human blood across the parking lot.

I'm a little surprised to see him here. I smile a bit and chew on my lip and being shy, because he is acting kind of different then in the last biology class. He doesn't look angry.. at least not as much as he was before.

"Good," I say honestly, feeling suddenly protective of her. And also glad that she has no questions about the distance I was away from her before I had saved her.
