"Yeah... sure. We'll go." He decided. It would be good for him to get some fresh air, he knew that when he'd be back behind his laptop he wouldn't leave his story until late at night. So he agreed to her offer, figuring he had nothing to lose. He got up, saved the file on his laptop and shut it down, then went to the hallway to get his coat.

She observed him as he walked away to get his coat. Manly, yet something boyish about him. old guys clothes.. a stupid wooly head.. with hippie hair underneath.. so what.. it would give you a great story.. a dirty story. Messing with someones feelings, that's nothing like me.. Or is it ? Picture this : The true story of a murderer's date.. Carolina was pretty much lost in thoughts while she kept observing Mort.

When Mort had his stuff collected he went back over to Carolina, "Let's go." He suggested, and together they left through the frontdoor. As they walked down the path the neighbour waved at Mort again, as she always did when she spotted him. Mort smiled and held up his hand as a greet back to her. "Is it far or just the town's centre?" He asked Carolina, to know whether it was a walking distance.

"Town's centre .. can anything be far in this town?" she chuckled and glanced behind Mort at the neighbour. Clearly no one had a clue of who they were dealing with here.. "have you made friends yet since you've stayed here ?" She wondered. "The people seem nice.. a bit outdated yet nice.."
Let's take this step by step, she could find out more about him if she were closer. She could try to trick him into things of which she would write about of course.. She could be the boss of this situation, she could!

"Uh, well.. I know my neighbours. But I've kinda locked myself in my house the last week, been writing a lot." He explained. "How 'bout yourself?" After all, she had only recently moved here as well.

"Oh.. quite the same actually.. I have to keep up the writing, don't want to become a bad journalist so yah.. and besides that I haven't really done anything social here.. this is going to be the first social thing" She smirked "Weird that it'll be with the man I'm supposed to write about.. I guess you could feel flattered.. if what I'd write was positive of course" she added and looked down "I really don't want to be like those journalists that do anything to get a story. A couple of days ago it was just a really bad start and I didn't mean to be acting like gestapo.. I'm sorry" Carolina said once again.
Lying through her teeth but doing her utmost best to be credible. She needed this job. She wanted this job. ..She'd do anything for this job in the end.. Groundbreaking experiences, never before used techniques. Why dig for dirt when you can make someone spill his dirt to you ? Article number one.. I'll send one in every month Giving them twelve reasons to hire me as their freelance journalist! I'll show them everything from bad-sex-gossip to that sweet little boy hiding underneath killer eyes..!
Carolina tried to hide a smirk caused by her thoughts. "I'll show you that first impressions can change. I'm not just some uptown b!tch, just someone who's in a too bad need of a decent job..still am.. I'll just.. be mild with ye" she sighed and then smirked just a little, trying to look as if she hadn't changed in one day from bad journalist to good journalist, that was too obvious, but that she wasn't scared of admitting a possible wrong. She looked at Mort, making eyecontact with him. Eventhough her expression was somewhat sad there was still a sparkle in her eyes.
Let him believe that it could be him who caused a sparkle..

He shrugged, "It's alright, I suppose." He said shortly. He didn't like her methods, while she was face to face with him she was sweet and nice and stuff, but this morning and yesterday she had proved to be quite different from that. He didn't fall for just anything like that, he was prepared to be wary around anybody - especially journalists.

Carolina nodded, not saying anything. She knew that putting the act on too much would make him suspicious nonetheless and that's something she didnt want. They approached the bazar silently. old trying to be hip-music was playing and it seemed as if all the fifty people from the town had come over to take part in the joyous happiness.
Carolina glanced from the busy town to Mort.

Mort glanced aside to Carolina, and found himself wondering again why she seemed so unjournalist like when that was in fact her occupation. He remained curious as long as he didn't figure it out though. "Can I ask you something?" he spoke up, as they entered the terrain where the bazar was. "What did you study for becoming a journalist?" He asked.

She smirked a little, the way he asked it it seemed as if journalist didn't need to have an education at all "Journalism in college, together with some other subjects. I graduated a while ago, three years now I think, since it took me a long time before I figured out that travelling until I was sixty wasn't what I wanted to do.." She looked at Mort "why ? Are you surprised I even have an education?" She smirked again, trying to trigger something in him. But she didn't know what or how to trigger it, she was a pretty louzy flirt so that wasn't the way to handle getting involved with him.
