thank you..so..they were fighting again weren't they?"Carl asked Helena, with mild interest. He wanted to talk about something else. He wanted to talk about her. He wanted to get to know her more. All he knew of her was how she walked, how pretty she looked when she was working and trying to get things right. He wanted to know what she would be doing tonight. He wanted to know if she had boyfriend. He wanted to know it all..
Annabelle walked into the diningroom, meeting her husband who was already there. She said down at the table and looked at him "Are you alright my dear? Did you eat too fast again?" She said, with a hint of a grin in the corners of her mouth "sit down and stop moving so ridiculously. Where are your manners?"
She knew manners were the last thing he was thinking about right now, for the spell she found was causing the blood of his body to protest, drain away from certain important bodyparts, such as the brain and heart. Just for a few seconds. Just to scare the man in question of his health..

Helena dared to look up at him, blushed slightly and shrugged: "Not really, I think", - she said, glancing at the kitchen-door, as if expecting someone to walk in, but of course no one wouldn't, because the Countess and the Count would never set their anywhere like a kitchen. But still, she was a bit nervous, after all, they were having tea while they were supposed to be working and, moreover, she had served these expensive cups and plates... Helena sighed quietly: "They went upstairs, to get dressed for dinner, so they're OK tonight, at least not fighting", - she added.
"Do not teach me of manners", - he growled, giving her a cold glare. - "And don't you dare accuse me of having none", - Henry straightened up, which made him wince, and the sharp pain in his chest increased which made him press his hand harder to the spot and take a deep, slow breath.
The Count sat down onto the chair, taking some time to relax, to realize what was going wrong with him. He rang a bell which meant that they were ready for dinner and that their servants had to hurry up and get down to serving them.
Impatient, he rang the bell again.

Belle looked at how her husband was struggling because of her spell. She had been thinking about really killing him, but she knew that with what the maid and the butler knew about them, she would be the one who would get the blame, wether she had actually done it or not. She was not willing to risk her life for him. That was something he wasn't worth. No matter how much of a jerk he was. "I know you have manners. unlike the servant.." She muttered, when the maid and butler didn't show up with the food yet. "I want to speak to Carl about that. This is ridiculous"
She wanted to 'speak' to Carl. That's what she always said when she felt like getting some attention from him..
"THank god, one night without a fight" Carl smirked a bit, slowly starting to loosen up. UNtil he heard the bell of the count. "We should go before that makes him mad.."

Henry's breathing was still laboured and the squeezing pain in the chest didn't subside, but his face remained perfectly emotionless and calm, when he realized he could cope with the heartache. He was a strong man, both physically and mentally, and now something eerie was happening, something out of the ordinary: he almost never fell ill.
Glancing at his wife, the Count narrowed his eyes slightly and rang the bell for the third time, which was a bad sign for the servants. "They will get a reprimand and their salary will be reduced", - he shrugged carelessly. - "There's no need for you to talk to him", - he added sharply.
"Oh!" - Helena gasped, standing up from her chair and biting her lip slightly. She took the plates with cooked food and stormed out of the kitchen, trying to get to the dining-room as soon as her legs would carry her, for she knew that the Count liked punishing his servants for bad service: most of the time, he took most of their salaries, and living without money wasn't the best pleasure, really. She sighed, entering the room and making a curtsey carefully, still holding the plates. The girl looked down, showing that she was ashamed of being late.

Belle stared at her husband. He was telling HER what to do or what not to do ? "Since I am the only one of us who actually tries to make them work instead of make them work less and cutting in on their paycheck I think it is wise if I talk to these two after diner" Belle mumbled firmly. When Helena walked in Belle looked at her "Thank you for taking the time to serve us diner. I hope we didn't interrupt you in Anything?" She bitched.
Carl followed, with the gravy(?) and the other stuff needed for diner. "I am sorry count, countess. It was my fault that Helena was late. I asked her to help me out with a few courses. It was not my place to ask. Do not blame her

"I beg your pardon, Missis", - Helena said quietly and calmly, still not looking up. She knew too well how a servant had to behave, and she felt no shame for having been late, but of course it was an unpleasant mistake of hers, the mistake that could cost her money. And, if the Counts were in a bad mood, as they usually were, she could even lose her position of a maid.
Even though the castle scared her sometimes, Helena realized, that it was one of the best places to work at in this town.
When Carl spoke up, the girl could feel her cheeks blushing, she hadn't expected anything like that from him and, moreover, she couldn't understand why he was saying it and taking all the guilt.
The Count raised an eyebrow and nodded slightly. "Wait in the kitchen after you've cleaned everything", - he said coldly.

".. That's it Helena and Carl. You can leave us to our meal, thank you." Belle stared at her plate. Good thing her appitite wasn't spoiled. In fact, it seemed to grow the longer she looked at the plate. With slow neat bites she started to eat however. "so.." she started, trying to make small conversation. "Now that I am pregnant you know we can't have sex for nine months , do you?" She said. She wasn't even lying. Back when she was pregnant she heard the doctor give her that advice. It would be better for the child's development. Belle didn't mind at all. The last thing she wanted to do was sleep with her husband. This way she had a nine months long break...And in the meantime.. she'd try to lure Carl into her bed..
Carl bowed. He just knew he had to talk to the countess later on. IT was always that way. She handled him.. Carl turned around and went back to the backroom, wich was intended for the staff

Helena made a curtsey and left the dining-hall, following Carl to the backroom, obviously looking upset.
Henry raised an eyebrow at Belle: "Only during the last couple of months, dear", - he smirked slightly.

".. Do you want to have another miscarriage Henry ?" Belle asked him straightforward, putting her fork down. "You heard what the doctor said during the second pregnancy. If you want to make sure someone will take over your name you will not bug me with your dirty needs"
Carl turned around and looked at Helena. She looks upset and somewhat fragile. He wanted to help her, say something that would help her, lay an arm around her , just comfort her in a way. But he felt clumpsy and a bit scared to do so. "It will be alright, whatever will happen I will take full responsibility. Don't worry" He gave her a small encouraging smile

"You don't have to", - she said quietly, looking somewhere aside from him, because her cheeks still had a shade of pink. - "Because you're not responsible for anything, you don't have to take the guilt", - Helena shook her head and started cleaning up, to take her mind off the incident. It's good that the Count and the Countess didn't fight that evening, their moods were a bit better than when they had quarrels, and maybe they wouldn't punish the servants too much. She glanced at Carl and smiled slightly, to herself.
"Don't threaten me", - Henry smirked, but his eyes remained cold. - "Nothing will happen during the first three or four months and then we'll see", - he took a bite of his dinner nonchalantly. - "Unless you try to harm the baby on purpose", - his eyes became very dark and somewhat dangerous, when he looked at his beautiful wife. - "I swear you wouldn't want to do it".
