Spot and Liza headed for a diner after they left marty at sheapshed. Spot strutted down the road with his arm around Liza's waist. Out of nowhere the dalancey brothers came, stalking behind him a a safe distance. Spot whispered to Liza, "Hey kiddo, ya member what I taught ya last year afta da strike? Ya eva used dose skills?" Liza shook her head no. "Well get ready, da dalancey broters are following us. I'll get the big one, you get the small one, eh?" By this time the Dalancey's were keeping pace behind spot and liza a few feet behind. Spot nonchalantly said, "Now." Spot and Eliza whirled on the Dalanceys. Spot cracked one on the head with his walking stick dazing him long enough to send him sprawling on the ground from a fist in the gut. Eliza kicked the other in the soft spot, getting him down to eye level. She winked then gave him a black eye, then the other. The brothers were laying on the ground moaning as spot and Eliza were running off. Eliza picked her skirts up past her ankles keeping pace with Spot. They slowed as they came to the front door to the diner. They leaned against the building breathing hard from the run. "Guess I learn good, don't I?" Eliza said smugly. "Or I'm just a good teacher," spot retorted.

Jack watched Kid Blink keep Race busy while him and David put the rabbit under the sheets,this was kinda stupid,but at that moment Jack would do anything for a laugh.
Racetrack came back over to his bed,eyeing Jack,he flipped the sheets back and saw the rabbit,his eye got wide and he screamed, "GIMMA A STICK SOMEBODY!" he yelled, "GET IT OUTTA MY BED!"

David laughed and nearly fell over in surprise from Race's cry. He stopped Racetrack from grabbing the broom leaning against the wall and grabbed the rabbit, saving it. He laughed harder as Racetrack looked at him as though he was dancing with a ghost.
"It's just a rabbit, Race," he laughed. He held the shaking white fuzz ball out to show him that it was harmless.

"I ain't got good history wid rabbits..." Racetrack said, "Now get dat away from me."
Jack held himself up against the bed,laughing hard. "It's okay Race," he said, "It's just a baby."
"I don't care if it's a freakin' muddah of pearl deck of cards!" Race said, "get it away from me." he was white underneath his hat,and fingering the broomstick handle.

David chuckled and stepped back away from Race's white face.
"Alright, alright."
He turned to Jack, still chuckling. "What do you want me to do with 'im?"

" Blink'll take him back ta Fire." Jack said.
Racetrack sunk down against the wall and looked at David, "Dat's low." he said,trying not to smirk.

"What? Don't look at me. It was Jack's idea."
He handed the rabbit to Blink and saw that Racetrack calmed considerably as Blink walked out the door.
He held his hand out to help pull Racetrack up to his feet.
"So, can I ask?"

"ask what?" Racetrack said,though he probably knew the answer.
Jack was doing what he always had to do at night,keeping the younger newsies from killing each other.

David pulled Racetrack to his feet and sat down on the bed next to him.
"Can I ask why youre so terrified of rabbits? If you don't wanna tell me, that's ok. I'm just curious. How does a tough guy like you get to be so freaked out about a small little rodent?"
David chuckled as he watched Jack pull two younger newsies off of each other and shoved them towards their beds.

Racetrack laughed, "It's a long story." he said, "I was nine,been a Newsie for tree years. An' dat's when I met my foist goil newsie.Well,she had a rabbit,it hated me. But I liked her so we'd sit dere and talk well,one night we was talking,we we're downstairs and she had dat stopid bunny wit her. Well,it got scared of sumthin' and jumped on me and started freakin' out,it took her an' Kid Blink ta get the thing off me,it came out fine,bu' I came out wit my weird little phobia."
"Here!" Jack said,and pulled the toast apart and handed on side to each of the bickering little ones "Now ya's both got da same amount now quit ya arguin' afore I soak ya!"
