"I don't know.. I'll trust your word on this" She said with a small smile "I've only started searching, it's not weird if I don't find him immediatly right ?" Demi stretched her hand out to Jack and shortly rubbed hers over his hand "Thanks for the information anyways, I won't bother you about this anymore, you've heard enough of my dad-searcH" She giggled.

Jack jumped slightly when he felt her hand on his. He stared at their hands for a few minutes before pulling his away. "Oh ... ok ... no problem," Jack stuttered. He stood up and grabbed his bottle of rum, taking a quick gulp. "If you'll excuse me ... I need to ...er... check something ..." He said before turning and heading back to his cabin, suddenly feeling drained. Jack locked his cabin door and sat down behind his desk. He rested his head in his hand and closed his eyes, trying to clear his thoughts.

Demi's mouth was wide open with surprise as she watched Jack walk off so suddenly. What had she done wrong ? Was she too obvious about showing a little affection for him? of course, he's your captain!! snap out of it Demi She shoved her plate of food away and left the galley too, only to go updecks and get to work though.

Jack racked his brain, trying to come up with a plausable excuse to deviate from the course. He could face Teague now. But short of throwing the supplies overboard, claiming an emergancy stop and leaving Demi in the port, he had nothing. Not that he'd be able to leave her anyway ... "She's family," Jack muttered. He was so confused, his only family had been Teague and his mother, and he'd left home as soon as possible. Jack didnt know how to act around a sister ... he knew he probably freaked her out earlier but he was so confused. "Now would probably be a good time to stop with the innuendos," Jack said to himself. He took the bandana off his head and wiped the sweat off his forehead.

The rest of the day Demi continued working, it was not until the sun had gone under that she was said to stop working. She went to her room to put on a sweater, then she went back updecks, hoping that Jack had replaced Mr.Cotton at the helm by now. It seemed as if he avoided her..

The advantage of putting Demi in the cabin next to his was, he could hear when she went in and out. As soon as he heard the door open, Jack headed back on deck. He staggered on deck after drinking most of the afternoon. Jack sat at the bow of the ship, thinking it probably wasnt a good idea to take over the helm when he could barely see what was in front of him, instead, he ordered Mr Gibbs to take over. Jack leant back against the railing at the bow and closed his eyes, enjoying the cool sea breeze on his face after being cooped up in his cabin all day. Jack presumed Demi had gone to bed for the night, he always thought better out in the sea air than he did inside and he didnt have to worry about bumping into Demi now.

"If I wouldn't know better it would seem as if the captain is running away from a crew member of his" Demi blushed a little as she broke the silence and approached Jack slowly but surely, making sure she didn't startle him too much, not wanting to make him run off, again/

Jack looked up at her through drunk eyes, one of the few times he'd ever let himself get well and truely drunk, usually it only ended in disaster. "And why on earth would you think that?" Jack slurred, moving up so she could sit down next to him, knowing he wasnt going to get rid of her now. "I think the Captain had very important thing to do in his cabin ... not to mention a very painful arm thanks to a certain crewmember of his,"

"Yeah.. I'm still sorry about that" She said and blushed a little "You were gone so quickly this afternoon.. just made me wonder if I eh..." She swallowed and looked down "If I was too foreward with.. yknow.. showing something.. I shouldn't have been showing" SHe said in puzzle-words, meaning that she might become like one of those swooning girls of her town when it came to Captain Jack SParrow.

"You werent too foreward," Jack shook his head, staring into his bottle of rum. He was silent for a long time before he finally blurted out, "I lied to you," Jack frowned, shocked at his own admission and silently reminded himself to learn to watch his tongue better when he was drunk.
