I steadily look between Jeff and the dog, not wanting to make eye contact with the guy. This is part of my job, I don't know why I feel so freaked out. Maybe because I didn't see it coming.

"So... what do you say you put away the gun and go tell your boss or whatever that you didn't find whoever you're looking for. We're just here on our honeymoon." I said, adding a bit of terror to my voice.
"Alright... but if I find out you're lying to me... I'll kill you both." He told me. I heard him disengage the pistol and heard his footsteps retreating.
People began thanking me for defusing the situation, but I ignored them. "Let's go back to the hotel." I whispered in Alice's ear.

I stand up and take my wallet out of my back pocket. I throw some cash down on the table to cover the bill and tip our waiter. I hold on to Bandit's lead and follow Alice out of the cafe after I put my wallet back in my pocket. We make our way back to the hotel and into our room.
"God that was terrifying... And here I thought I'd never have to speak Spanish again!" I said.
