(( The below was written by me and "will turner" ))
Jinxaminea Ronan, Jinxie, had flown into Raleigh, North Carolina from Ft. Lauderdale. Once she had collected her baggage and cat carrier, she took a cab to the local train station. Like the train station of King's Cross. Platform 9 3/4 was in a secret barrier. Making sure no one saw, she disappeared into the barrier. Ending up in the wizarding train station heading for Asheville, North Carolina.
Storing her baggage away, she picked up her uniform change of clothes, wand, money, and cat carrier. Heading to an empty compartment.
Her hair, being a metamorphmagus, was a bright, hot, pink. She had faced hardship and teasing for the rare power she was born with and worked hard to prove herself. This year she had been elected as prefect of her house.
Preceded by soft whispers, some malicious, and others just unknowing, and therefore ignorant, another 6th year student walked down the train, peering into each compartment with wide blue-grey eyes. Coming to the compartment that Jinxie was in, the girl who the others stared at and talked about behind her back, came in.
Slung over her shoulder was a buckskin messenger bag, with three tight rows of metal cones attached to the bottom, as she moved they jingled together softly. She turned her back to the door, closing it behind her. Her long dark hair streaming down her back, as the medicine wheel at the top of her braid sparkled slightly, and the eagle feather was a stark white against the chestnut locks. On her shoulder sat a small saw-whet owl, hooting softly as it turned and looked at the pink haired girl on the other side of the compartment.
Jinxie looked up from the book she was reading and smiled softly. Sure, like others she was curious; but, she would out right make fun of her. She also knew first hand what that could do. Her hair turned a bright yellow when she saw the owl; all animals made her happy and smile. She looked down she saw heard small hiss come from the calico cat next to her. Her hair turned black as she glared at the cat. The cat sensing the glare stopped hissing.
Jinxie's hair turned back to pink as she looked back to the new girl, "Hi."
Tokala turned around, and smiled gently, "Hello. I hope you don't mind... I couldn't find room anywhere else... though I could look again if --"
"Oh no ... I don't mind at all." Jinxie said putting the book down. "I'm Jinxie, by the way."
Tokala smiled, holding out her hand, "I'm Tokala... Tokala Potter --"
Jinxie smiled, "Jinxaminea Ronan." she said as she shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you." Tokala shook her hand in response and turned, sitting down across from Jinxie.
Jinxie sat down and smiled when her cat crawled onto her lap, "And this squishy fluff ball is Mungo."
"Would that be short for Mungojerrie ?"
Tokala smiled as she took her little owl off of her shoulder. He fluttered around and hooted, and nuzzled her cheek with his beak, "This is Gumdrop..."
"Yes it is," Jinxie laughed. "Owls are so cute. I work at an exotic animal hospital for the summer and we've had a few owls be brought in."
"I know, he's an adorable little owl isn't he?" Tokala laughed softly and let the little owl go.
Gumdrop fluttered around the compartment and settled down on Jinxie's shoulder, hooting softly as he rubbed his face against her cheek.
"He likes you... So what year are you in? I see you're a prefect."
Jinxie smiled brightly; her hair turning yellow. "6th year ... I think the cutest animal would be a hybride of any own and a kestrel."
Mungo looked up at the owl; tilting his head.
"Aww that would be ADORABLE!" Tokala laughed softly as she pulled out a book to read, "I'm in 6th year as well."
"You know, I've seen you around school before. Though, I'm sorry I've never said hello till now. School can get really busy here." Jinxi said.
"Its alright... I'm used to no one talking to me, its no difference." Tokala smiled and shrugged gently.
Jinxie smiled softly, "I know the feeling..." she said, her eyes looking up and seeing her bangs turn purple.
"Oh! So you're the Metamorphmagus that I heard about in the school! I didn't realize it was you. I'm not sure if it would be annoying or fun...depends on how you look at it I suppose."
Tokala shrugged, on eye had turned red-gold... meaning at some point if she sneezed, she would turn into a fox....hopefully she didn't sneeze.
Jinxie blinked seeing one of her eyes change.
"Uh ... well ... it could have been annoying; actually it was... Whenever my mood changed my entire appearance changed. I've worked around it and managed to control it to where my mood only changes my hair color. I can still change my appearance at will; but, I rarely need to do that."
She could definetly tell something was different about Tokala ...and she knew it wasn't what people made fun of her for.
"That’s so cool though! Its too bad its not a skill that can be taught...or maybe it can... I wouldn't mind it sometimes"
She laughed as she slammed her book shut... but it so doing disturbed the dust in the old leather bound tome…
Tokala let out a great sneeze - which she immediately regretted.... Her form quickly started to change, her face elongating, her skin lending its copper tone to the fur that sprouted forth. Her hands turned black and her whole stature shrank, all within a few split seconds, she had become a red fox...
Jinxie's eyes widened; but, soon her head tilted looking at the fox, "...wow..."
The fox stretched itself out, yawning as it did so... though a moment later Tokala turned herself back to human and sat there blushing.
"Stupid dust..."
Jinxie blinked, "You're ... an animagus..."
" Yes... but you can't tell the teachers or anyone..."
Jinxie shook her head, "I won't ... I have a few secrets myself that I wouldn't like let out either" she laughed.
"I'm more worried about going to jail..."
"...how'd you learn anyway??"
"My dad taught me before 3rd year...since then I've been learning more and more and have become better... and I bribed Professor Zamudio ... "
Jinxie felt it only fair that she reveal on of her secrets.
"I won't tell anyone if you don't tell anyone this ... I plan to patrol the halls at night, being a prefect and all, using different appearances to confuse the others..." as she said that she changed her hair four times: from hot pink to light lavender, to long curly and blond, to medium wavey and brow, to medium straight of black, and then back to hot pink.
Tokala's smile brightened up considerably, "I won't tell a soul."
She turned to her bag, rifling through it, "So what courses do you have?"
She pulled her schedule out of her bag.
"Mondays and Wednesdays: Transfiguration at 8:00am. DADA at 9:30am. Charms at 11:00am. Potions at 1:45pm.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: History of Magic at 8:00am. Herbology at 9:30am. Care of Magical Creatures at 11:00am. And Muggle Studies at 1:42pm."
"...Muggle Studies... I guess you were born into a Wizarding family. I can't imagine taking that class... I don't need to study how I live."
Jinxie smiled, "Actually, my family is pureblood-- or so we think, dad's mother was adopted. But, I was raised in the muggle world. I knew how the muggle world worked and it was an easy O in my OWLs."
"And I," A voice of mock proudness echoed from the doorway.
Jinxie rolled her eyes seeing a seventeen year old boy of medium height, brown hair, and hazel eyes, "Didn't advance to N.E.W.T levels in a course about our home world."
She turned to look at Tokala, "My brother..."
"OLDER broth--"
"forgive him old one." She rolled her eyes, "My ANCIENT brother, Aimeri."
Aimeri smirked as he sat down next to his sister in the compartment, "She's just jealous that I got Outstandings in the subjects she got Acceptables."
"Oh yes, I sooo regret not getting an Exceeds Expectations or and Outstandings in Astronomy, Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, and Divinition.
At least I got higher than an Acceptable in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Care of Magical Creatures. You wouldn't last against an enemy or a pygmy puff."
"And you wouldn't---" Aimeri started.
"---be able to read Ancient Runes, do arithmancy which is the equivalent of numerology, predict the future, and know the planets."
It was clear that both could possibly do anything in the courses they had Acceptables in; but had evident sibling rivalry. A love hate relationship.
