"I'll have to know, Captain Sparrow, women are the stronger of the sex. What do you think we are made for? Cleaning? Cooking? Marrying rich men and have lots of children?!" I stood and pointed my finger in his face. The nerve of this man! He was no different to the men back home after all. "Some of the best pirates are women!"

"Blah-blah-blah", - Jack said calmly, glanced at her finger pointed right at his face and laughed. - "Get me some more rum, darlin', please".

I grit my teeth and try not to scream from frustration. "Men," I spat and walked over to the bar. "Good work, Turton." The boss said as I came over. "Keep him spending and there might just be a bonus in it for you" He grinned. "How long and I going to have to babysit him for?" "Until all his money is gone" The thought of the bonus was nice, but I could be stuck with irritating Pirate captain for hours yet. I grabbed a new bottle and thrust it into Jack's hand.

Fiery temper - Jack noted to himself, quite amused by this girl's behaviour. Usually the ones he met turned out to be much calmer.
"Thanks", - he told her, mocking her by this exaggerated politeness.

I sat in silence. My elbow resting on the table, abesntly tracing the lines in the wood with my fingers. I couldnt let this man get the better of me. I sighed. "So," I said calmly. "How long are you planning on staying in Tortuga, Captain Sparrow?"

A ghost of a smirk played on his lips when he heard a quiet sigh, escaping the girl's lips. Jack narrowed his eyes slightly, trying to focus the blurred vision on her face more attentively: "Well", - he made a vague handgesture, pointing to nothing in particular, - "until I feel the urge to sail away, aye? Makes sense?"

"I guess," I said quietly, pretending I wasnt really interested. I stared over Jack's shoulder, watching the others in the room. If my plan was going to work, I needed Jack to think I'd given up on joining his crew but what Jack didnt know was, I never give up until I've got what I want!

Taking the last gulp of rum from the bottle, Jack leaned his elbows against the rusty table, closing the eyes for a moment and grinning to no one but himself.
"Gettin' borin' 'ere", - he opened his eyes lazily. - "No fights, no bets, nothin'..." - he sighed mockingly.

"Hmmm?" I glanced back at him. "Oh ... yeah ... I need a drink," I walked over to the bar and leant across, grabbing a glass of water. I leant there for a while, sipping my drink. It was getting dark outside, and the bar was gradually getting busier. I wondered how long I was going to be stuck here for ...

"Since when water is considered to be a 'drink'? - Jack laughed. - "But while ye're still there, brin' me some more rum, darlin'!" - he grinned at the girl. - "And ye look like ye're waitin' fer somewhat to happ'n, don't ye?"
