Uncas did as the captain ordered, helping out the crew to prepare the ship for a storm of any kind. Occasionally he glanced at the maps at the helm and as soon as a big gush of wind blew the maps away, straight into the water far away from the ship, the 'storm' started to calm down...

The second the papers slipped from me, I tried to grab them. But without succes - both of 'em were carried far into the ocean by the gust of wind. Frustrated with so much bad luck on one day, I punch the wheel in anger. "Bloody hell!"
I'm just not the kind of person to give up easily though. Soon as the 'storm' settled I call some crewmember to the helm, and get my ass down to my quarters. To write and draw down whatever I remember of those charts.. Bloody hell - they were our main tool in navigating to that goddamn island. Something's just not right about this all.

It was not until two days later that Uncas made a next move. He was sitting somewhere below decks, where he was alone. His eyes were closed, it was dark, except for the light from one candle. He was murmering some spells, trying to make contact with one of the ships he sensed nearby. It were two ships, but one was too far off track...right now that was.
Aboard the "Fierce Canon" the captain was sitting in his cabin, checking out maps. All of a sudden the candle which was burning dimmed. One of the captain's inkfeathers started 'floating' in the air.. It scribbled the message: Black Pearl. Then it drew a direction on the map and then the word "Attack" was written down.
The captain lost consciousness, thinking it was a ghost from the past hunting him. When he woke up he realised it was a friendly ghost, who wanted his crew and himself to plunder and get rich. They went after the Pearl.

Before long, my crew spotted the approaching ship. It was headed straight for us, so there was no mystery about its intentions. Though a fight would slow us down, I half welcomed the distraction. With so many things going wrong, maybe this would light up some spirits again. So I took the command immediately, preparing the Pearl for battle..

The other ship was long ready for battle, and at quite a distance the captain said "fire" and attacked the Pearl.
"It looks like they were way ahead of us captain!" Uncas shouted at Jack while he stopped preparing the ship for battle "The canons aren't ready yet!"

"Well bloody well *get* them ready!" I snapped at the fellow. "Hard to starboard," I then shouted at the helmsmen. "Avoid the range of their guns!"

Uncas pretended to work along with the crew but in fact he was not really working along, below decks he was trying to disable the canons for a short while, at least until the Pearl was damaged badly enough not to destroy the other ship.
The Pearl received ceveral holes into its body due to the canonfires, it was not until halfway through the fight that the canons started working, the whole crew was puzzled, they hadn't seen a ship before that wasn't able to fight in a battle. They thought the Pearl was really cursed afterall..
"Captain we're going to loose, the canons are acting strangely, this whole ship is cursed!!" one of the scared crewmembers said

"MY ship isn't cursed, you bilge rat." I growl at the fellow. "Get the grapple hooks. We'll take this fight aboard their bloody vessel and *finish* it there!" I demand.

(of course you're not, I can see that ) "Ayeaye!" Uncas went with the rest of the crew to grab the hooks, he grabbed his sword and went back updecks. The Pearl was severely damaged, he didn't mind finishing off the others now
