His reaction made Adam think that maybe there was a truth to those stories after all.. no matter how unlikely they sounded. He wasn't convinced yet though. It was an insane story, after all.
Adam shrugged, and looked Jack in the eye, "The one that points to what you want most in the world." He said the words he had heard the day before.

Jack leaned back against a tree, casually, a smirk on his lips. "That would make things easier, wouldn't it? Shame it's just a myth,"

Adam smirked, "I figured." He said, though he wasn't so sure about it at all.. He decided to put Jack's words to the test. "Can I see it?" He asked directly, cos if the compass was an ordinary one, Jack would have no reason to refuse.

"See what?" Jack raised his eyebrow. "My boring, non-magical compass?" He shrugged and took it out. He flicked it open and dangled it by the rope so he wasn't touching it, so it wouldn't point in an particular direction. He dangled it in front of Adam for a few moments then snapped it shut and stuffed it back in his pocket. "A mythical compass would be much more interesting to look at. Let me know when you find one, eh?" He leaned against the tree again, arms folded across his chest.

Adam sighed, after coming to the conclusion that the compass was nothing special. Shame. That could've solved his problem. Now, he guessed he had to kill Sparrow eventually after all.

Jack smirked a little, glad that Adam didn't seem to notice that the arrow had been spinning like crazy, more so than a 'normal' compass.
"So. Brahe." Jack said, changing the topic of conversation. "What are you plans after New Amsterdam?" He asked, since he had no intentions of letting him back on the ship.

"Depends." On whether his associates would hurry the hell up to witness Jack's death. If so, he planned to get out of here. Move far away from the Caribbean. Leave his old life behind and start a new one. He wasn't going to tell Jack that though.

Jack raised an eyebrow. "Depends on what?" He didn't trust Brahe at all, the more he knew about him the better.

"Whether or not you think you're gonna find a better crewmember than me." Adam smirked. It was obvious that Jack wanted him off the ship. It would be better for him if it wasn't the case, so he'd just act like he'd rather stay a crewmember after all.

"There's always better," Jack said casually. "There is no crew member than cannot be easily replaced. Except for the Captain, of course,"
