Rowan Mayfair

The Mother of Monsters

Bio: Rowan was born to Deidre Mayfair, Designee to the Mayfair Legacy, but was rushed away by her aunt Carlotta. Rowan was adopted by her cousins and grew up with them in California. Rowan learned she had the ability to kill with mere thought when she was mocked as a child (a belief that was reinforced through her life when she turned this power on a man who was attempting to rape her and later on her adopted father.) She worked as a neurosurgeon, until one night she saw a man drowning, Michael Curry,saved him, and fell in love with him. She went to New Orleans with Michael and found out that she was an heiress to the Mayfair Legacy, and that she was one in a long line of witches. She married Michael Curry,moved into the house on First Street, and became pregnant. Rowan began to have more and more experiences with the ghost that had haunted and aided the Mayfairs for centuries, Lasher (sometimes called the man.) With her aid, Lasher entered her unborn son, was born and grew instant to the size of a grown man. She ran away with him, leaving Michael dying in the pool after he attempted to fight him. Lasher kept Rowan captive and she had a child, a Taltos like Lasher. Michael killed Lasher and Rowan killed her own child, both realising that it was instinct.
Now: Rowan has run away, having fallen in love with Lestat.

Stella Mayfair

The Designee to the Legacy

Bio: Stella lived through the episode with Lasher, barely, she was weak for months after miscarrying a Taltos. In Mayfair Medical Stella reignited her friendship with her cousin Mona. When Stella recovered she returned to the Talamasca, where she worked as a specialist on vampires and other witch families. She felt guilty as she was able to travel and Mona was still dying, as she felt she should be. This guilt was increased when she became the Designee of the Mayfair Legacy, after Mona became too ill and gave it up. Stella has changed a lot since then, she has become darker, after she found out that it was a betrayal inside the Talamasca that allowed Lasher to ruin their family, killing many of the Mayfair woman and her colleague Aaron Lightyear , and after her mentor, David Talbot disappeared, reappearing in a new body, as a vampire. This despair was increased when Mona became a vampire, and Rowan ran away, leaving Michael bedridden and sick again. She is now tormented by Mona, who comes randomly offering her old friend the dark blood and arguing with her, David who haunts her room, checking up on her, often when she is sleeping, and the ever present Louis, who has followed her since she was young.

Pieter Bruguière

The Superior General of the Order of the Talamasca

Bio:Pieter has worked for the Talamasca since they discovered his powers when he was twenty. Over the last two decades he has worked his way up through the Talamasca, quickly being entrusted to oversee the most dangerous cases, those of the great witch families and vampires. After David's disappearance and the resignation of his replacement (whose name Alex can't remember right now...) Pieter was nominated and became the Superior General of the Order of the Talamasca.


Relationship to other characters:
Michael Curry: knows him through his work both on the Mayfair case and later with Stella
Mona:knows her has Stella's friend and cousin, does not know she has been turned
Rowan: knows her, and knows from Stella that she has run away with Lestat
Lestat: knows him well, has studied him for years now
Louis: knows him, but not as well as he knows Lestat (he leaves less to study and is notoriously reclusive of course)
Other Vampires: has a great interest in them, and a respect, though he fears them far more than Stella
David: good friend, know he has turned from the books but has not had an encounter with him as a vampire
Stella:complex, they used to hate each other, they were lovers briefly, as they often worked together on cases, now they are good friends, with some slight tension-ness

David Talbot

The Scholar Eternal

Bio: David worked his way up in the Talamasca, dealing with every type of supernatural activity from ghosts to shaman to vampires. He became the Superior General when he was 65, and lived as General until he was in his early eighties. It was then that Lestat took an interest in him, and he was eventually caught up in Lestat's foolishness, causing him to be switched into the body of a young Indian man. After this switch Lestat gave David the dark blood, so he is now eternally in this new body. David is still a scholar and historian, he gets many of his new vampire kin to write about their long lives for him, and he gets them published under the same pseudonym that Daniel first came up with and Lestat later highjacked. He has also written the history of his good friends, the Mayfair witches, and published them as the fictional works as those of "Anne Rice" (the woman who is really just their lawyer and publisher, who thinks their works are fiction and that her patrons just wish to remain anonymous because they do not want the fame.) David now wanders about, watching, and sometimes conversing with his old mortal friends (Stella and Sterling only,) and he is drawn back to members of the last coven often, though they have separated since the time when they were all gathered in Night Island or in the church protecting Lestat who laid lifeless after his experience in Memnoch the Devil.

Michael Curry

The Saint,The Slayer of Monsters

Bio: Michael was born and raised in New Orleans, as a child he saw Lasher on the front porch of First Street. Michael moved to San Francisco and started a construction company that did detailed refurbishments of older homes, naming it Great Expectations after his favourite novel. One day he falls into the icy waters of the Bay and drowns, dying and meeting the Mayfair ghosts in heaven. After he is brought back to life and saved by Rowan, he finds that he can tell peoples future, and he and Rowan fall in love and he returns to New Orleans to seek answers. He is given the Mayfair history to read and finds out about Lasher, and the curse. Rowan and Michael get married and she gets pregnant, the baby is changed and becomes Lasher. Michael has a heart attack and is awaken by Mona, led by Oncle Julien's ghost. OY, I am going to cut to the chase now: Michael has had another heart attack, caused by Rowan, and is being helped by the family and the new Designee, Stella.

Bio: Ryan's brother, a lawyer at MAYFAIR & MAYFAIR, doesn't believe in Lasher, that they are a witch family, or any other supernatural stuff. Susan Mayfair is his wife, third cousin, and the mother of his only daughter, Stella.

Bio: Talamascan. Once Louis arrives where she lives, following Rowan and Lestat, he meets her and falls in love with her. She begins to share the same interest until she finds out that Lestat is there, nearby, and then she becomes obsessed with him. She then meets Rowan and they become friends, until Rowan mentions her life with Lestat, at which point, Jacqueline is so horrified that she decides the only way to exact revenge on Rowan (who knows of Jacqueline's feelings for Lestat) is to expose her. Unfortunately the tapes she has found have Lestat in them, a fact she is unaware of. Before she can expose the two, Lestat stops her. She realizes her mistake and begs for Lestat's forgiveness.... perhaps she'll turn into a vamp

Bio: Read the other books, people Right now he is in search of Lestat. Lestat saved his life, but he hasn't seen him since. And he needs to find Lestat... he has also fallen for the Talamascan, Jacqueline de Lesseps, while he was following Rowan. While he was following Lestat. She, in turn, begins to fall for him until she discovers that Lestat is nearby. Then, you know, she becomes obsessed with the very idea of meeting him. Then she wants him more than anything, and realizes she's in love with Lestat. Louis is in pain but decides to help her because, after all, he gets to find Lestat that same way. Muahahahaha!

Biography: Lestat was the seventh son of the Marquis de A’uvergne, one of three who survived through childbirth. He was the youngest, and soon proved to be one of the most temperamental. He grew up far beyond the glamour of the French aristocracy, his ancestors had squandered the family riches, leaving them with little to nothing to live off of. The only literate one of the family being Gabrielle, his blind father spending his days playing chess. Lestat grew up into a rather handsome young man, he however, unlike his two brothers, wanted to do something more with his life, even at one point running off with a theatre troupe, only to be drug back to his families castle and imprisoned in his own bedroom. His mother was the closest one to him, although she barely ever showed love to the young man. He soon took on the role as family benefactor, going up into the mountains and slaying a pack of wolves that harassed the family and the village, he lost his dogs and his horse to the wolves, coming back a hero, although his father wouldn’t believe him. Prodded by Gabrielle, he then leaves A’uvergne for Paris with his friend Nikki to pursue an acting career in Paris, there he is kidnapped by Magnus and turned into a vampire, Magnus committed suicide before showing the fledgling vampire how to use his powers, Leaving Lestat to discover all of this himself.
After years spent in Europe with his mother who he ended up turning as well and after Nikki committed suicide as a fledgling, he moved to New Orleans, where he would spend about 30 years worth with his Louis and Claudia, before Claudia, stuck in a 7 year olds body and unable to grow up, slit his throat and convinced Louis to dump him into the Bayou’s of Louisiana, Lestat survived this, and came back to the flat only to be set on fire by Louis when he attempted to mend ways with them. He…ah hell…you know Lestat…I’m tired of writing, mon dieu, he’s LE BRAT PRINCE! JAMES BOND OF VAMPIRES TALKS LIKE A GANGSTER LOOKS LIKE AN ANGEL! Do you like me now mon amis?

Skin: His skin is almost like solid ivory, because he is so old he is slowly going the ways of Those-Who-Must-Be-Kept

Bio: Marius De Romanus was born in 30 B.C. in Rome. He was an illegitimate child of a Roman patrician and a Celtic slave from the land of Gaul. In his mortal years, he travelled the Empire and much of the known world compiling a travelogue/history of the world. Contrary to his appearance in the movie Queen of the Damned (in which he was played by Vincent Perez) he has white-blonde hair curled at the shoulders and cobalt blue eyes. Due to his age, his skin is often described as being as pale and hard as white marble. To seem "normal" to mortals, he often aplies salves and oils to his skin as stated in Blood or Gold.

When he was approximately 40 years old, he was abducted by druids (from a tavern) who followed the religion of the Gods of the Groves. Marius was taken to the Grove where he was made into a vampire by the God of The Grove just before the yearly Feast of Samhain. He was instructed by the god to go and try, by any means possible, to find out why vampires all over the world (and the god himself) had been burned or destroyed even though they had not been exposed to fire or the sun. Marius traveled to Egypt and became the caretaker of the original two vampires, Akasha and Enkil, Those Who Must Be Kept.

Marius lived in many different places in his two thousand years of life. He lived in Antioch with Pandora for two centuries after becoming the caretaker of Those Who Must Be Kept. After separating from Pandora, he moved to Rome where he had the silent companionship of Avicus and Mael. He went into a coma-like sleep for "far more than half a century" before he was awoken by Avicus and Mael and the three set sail for Constantinople. It was there he came to know Zenobia. They lived there for a very short while before Marius went off on his own and visited many places while drifting through time before Going Into The Ground again in 1200.

He awoke again in 1482 and visited Rome and Florence briefly before settling in Venice as a rich eccentric gentleman who painted for his own pleasure. Here he opened a home for neglected and abused boys who had talent, fell in love with the Venetian courtesan Bianca Solderini, found the mortal Armand. Many years past here before the Children of Darkness (led by Santino) destroyed his house, severely injured Marius, and took Armand (whom he had made a vampire by this time). After the ordeal, Marius and Bianca (who helped him in his recovery and whom he made a vampire to aid him), lived very briefly in many northern Europe towns before they settled for awhile in Dresden. Here Marius found Pandora and begged her in vain to leave her companion, Arjun, and return to him. It was also here that Bianca left him after he heard Marius tell Pandora he would send her away if Pandora would be with him again. The last two places in which Marius lived was an island in the Aegean Sea and somewhere in the north. It is revealed in the novel Merrick, that Marius and Pandora had reunited in New Orleans.
