Courtship

[Sora Scambers]

Elizabeth smiled sweetly, holding a soft expression her face. She turned her head a little so that her head was against Will's. Elizabeth closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around Will's neck, nuzzling his skin with her fingers. "He said we'll have dinner outside where you don't have to feel uncomfortable," Elizabeth said, looking up at Will. "You know you don't have to impress my father, right?"

Will blushed and played with Elizabeth's nervously, he wanted to say yes; of course he knew he didn't have to impress anyone. But that would be a lie and as much as he wanted to gain her approval and as fearful as he was about being laughed at by the only woman he'd ever loved Will couldn't very well tell her something that wasn't true. "Well..." he hugged her tightly, as if afraid she was nothing more then a wonderful dream that would disappear without warning. "I don't feel like I'm good enough for you... and I will feel pressured to impress your father, Elizabeth."

"You are good enough for me, though," Elizabeth whispered and cupped his face, her thumb stroking his skin. "You don't have to impress my father, Will; he is already impress. He wanted you to marry me instead of me marrying James. Does that not honor you at all?"

"Yes, it does." Will responded softly, not sure if he believed his ears. "If only I believed it myself." he leaned against her hand, he couldn't really get over how good her touch felt. I've never felt anything so good in my life. "I just don't see why he would look at me as anything special."

"You are an honorable and noble man," Elizabeth said, smiling. "You saved me; you were with me most of the time of the adventure. My father is very thankful. Besides...even when I was thirteen, he liked you. He approves and is willing to pay for most of the wedding. I have yet to share my complete happiness with you; I'm more-over happy and it's only nearly half way let out."

"I saved you by stealing a ship and letting a pirate out of jail." Will couldn't help but shake his head, though he was smiling at the memory. "Altogether the dumbest thing I've ever done." he cupped her cheek in his hand, stroking her lightly. "And just how to you plan on showing me?"

Elizabeth blushed and shook her head. "I can't," Elizabeth said. "Not now; it's too...sexual."

Will raised his eyebrows. "Elizabeth..." Will blushed, looking into her eyes for a moment. "Well I can tell you and show you how much I love you if you want." he whispered after a moment of staring out at the view.

Elizabeth blushed and looked down slightly. She nodded at his suggestion, wondering what he had in mind. "Sure," she said, giving him a smile.

Will smiled, seeing has he'd finally gotten her to blush. So I'm not the only one nervous here. he thought to himself. Shaking his head to banish the thoughts he pulled Elizabeth over to the tall grass and picked a bunch of the white flowers growing around them, weaving them together Will placed the ring he'd formed on her head. Then he led her over to a small pond. The water sparkled brightly in the sunlight.
Will pressed his cheek against Elizabeth's and turned so they were looking into the water. "See? We look perfect together." he whispered softly, he pulled back enough to smiled at her. "I got you something."
