"So all these men are supposed to waste their time and I'm supposed to drop everything in my life just to save one man from his own foolish deed?" I raise an eyebrow, "Sounds like yer taking bloody liberties to me. All I can imagine is that you'll be lazin' around, dyin' and what not.. and the crew will be working their bloody socks off and I'll be sittin' around bothering meself with a problem I've been guilt-tripped into dealin' with.."

Jack was silent for a long moment as he regarded Cleo. He then took a step closer, his voice tense as he spoke. "I though' you'd be willin' to 'elp me because I though' we were friends - but you already corrected me on tha' fallacy so no need to bring it up again. And even so, I though', bein' the best mapper around in my opinion, tha' you'd at least be willin' to assist me in a professional sense. But apparently you are against even tha'." He shook his head, a disgusted smirk on his face. "Forget I even asked, eh?"

I glance over to the ship for a few moments, before reguarding Jack again.. "Does the sensation get any better further out? Is it just because you've only just stood back aboard there that you feel overcome? I just cannot imagine that you'd be able to survive so much as a day if you can't survive a few seconds.."

Jack looked out to sea as he answered, his eyes haunted with the memory of his most recent voyage to Tortuga from the Island of the Fountain. "It does get marginally get better, yes. It'll be bad for a short while at the very beginning, until I get acclimated to it I suppose you could say, an' then it'll jus'...maintain for a bit, savvy? But the longer I stay out, the worse it'll get. Comin' 'ere, all I wanted to do was sleep towards the end of the trip, agin' away until I got to land."

I watch him closely, wondering whether he's just saying this to convince me. "You still need to rest, though.. so you won't be leaving straight away. That'll give us both time to think.."

Jack did not react to her scrutinizing gaze, instead giving a slight shrug. "Well, righ', but I got nothin' I need to think about. I know I'm goin' whether I 'ave time to think or not, eh?" He then sighed, shifting his weight from one foot to the other before continuing. "If you need time to consider, then I implore you not to take too much. An' in fact, I invite you to go pick your payment righ' now," he added in hopes of hurrying her decision, sweeping an arm towards the Pearl.

"... I presumed, Mr. Sparrow, that you needed time here to rest." I frown, "I didn't know that you were in such a hurry to get back aboard the dreaded waters again.. this all seems very off colour to me.." I look at the ship, wondering still.. why on earth would I do this?

Jack looked to the ship as well, shuddering. "Aye well perhaps one nigh' ashore won't be too much to ask, eh?" he asked quietly, indeed ready to leave that very minute but not wanting to begin aging again once he was at sea. "A bit of rest sounds good."

"I think this voyage will need it.." I agree, nodding slightly.. "I'll come with you. As long as you give me a quarter of the gold you have down there and the ability to leave whenever I want." I give him a harsh bargain.

Jack's brows rose at her terms, his face a bit incredulous. "Twenty percent, an' you stay 'till the end. What good would it be to me if you took off mid-trip, whinin' tha' you would rather be back in good ol' Tortuga?" he wondered with a smirk, thinking back tot heir last voyage together.
