"Well, then." Jack turned around to face Penny. "If you've got any brilliant ideas, luv, please. Feel free to share them."

"We sit and wait and then plead ourselves free." she muttered, sitting down, now, "I don't bloody know. I'm usually not stupid enough to wind up here."

'I am no forger! how dare you' she said, clearly offended 'I work accurately, know my business thanks to the notes we get from your sailors, the ones who belong at sea. Besides, I need to find someone and..' Serena's eye fell on a court order for a Jack Sparrow 'what's this ? Jack Sparrow.. did you catch him?' she wondered all of a sudden.

Melchior's eyes glimmered a little as they fell onto the same paper, reminding himself of that situation, "You have business with him?" he asked, without quite answering her question.

'no, not at all' Serena told him, lying to his face. Her business needed to stay on the down-low, nobody, especially not a royal navy captain could know of it. 'Did you catch him?' she asked again, persistently

He was silent for a moment, peering over to her with judgement, ".. We have." he finally confirmed, "We'll be sending him to the gallows in a few hours."

Serena shook her head. That was not going to happen. 'You wrote the voyage is heading towards the waters around the Australis Incognita ? I heard Sparrow knows a lot about that area. At least hear him out before you let the gallows take over' she adviced him. If this wouldn't work she'd continue to influence his mind and thoughts. One way or another, she was taking Sparrow with her to Atlantis.

"And why would I want a pirate aboard a navy vessel with me?" Melchior exclaimed, "I believe you're not telling me everything. You do realise that conspiring with piracy is a highly punishable offense. If you were wise you'd drop the subject and agree to the terms of your contract, don't make me look any further into this matter."

Serena shook her head 'I am not conspiring with a pirate, wouldn't dream of it' she told him, staring him down 'I suggest you listen to me. Wasn't Sparrow in that area before he came to England, am I right?' she pushed the right buttons, for she knew that the story was well known. Anything that Jack Sparrow did was discussed and people gossiped about it for months. Besides, she was aware of the damage he did to her cousin, when he was in Atlantis. 'I heard he sailed the area a thousand times. I'm not saying you take him with you, hear him out about things we need to know, there may have been changes since the last map I made, I don't want to go on this voyage without knowing exactly what we might be running into. You don't want to end up like all your other colleagues, do you ? Drowned, writing notes for help.. ?'

"So you are suggesting we take Mr. Sparrow instead of you. Although I understand where you're coming from, the bigger picture says that there is more sense in taking a woman well-trained in maps than a vagabond who is much more untrustworthy."
