"Yes", Gillette said. "Hurry, come!"
He grabbed Daphne's hand, but fell to the ground. He looked down at his legs, and saw a cannonball and chain tangled around his feet.

Groves had already started running, he didn't see Gillette fall.
Daphne kneeled down on the ground next to him and tried to untangle the chain.
"Are you hurt? Please tell me you're okay, darling..."
Her pale cheeks flushed and her dark eyes searched his hastily.

"Run!" Gillette said. "Get out of here!"
The pirates reached the shore.
"Lookie here!"
A couple of them grabbed Daphne.

"No, I won't leave you here!"
Daphne held onto his arm until the pirates grabbed her.
"Gillette, help!"
Groves finally turned around and saw the situation. He ran back towards the two of them.

The pirates holding Daphne held a pistol to her head and a knife to her throat.
"No!" Gillette said. "Please don't hurt her!"
The two pirates backed away to the longboat with Daphne as the others ran into town.

"Help!" Daphne whimpered. "Please don't hurt me!"
She eyed the knife nervously.
Groves ran to Gillette's side and untangled him from the chain.
"Are you alright, Lieutenant?"

"Daphne", Gillette said. "They got Daphne!"
The pirates tied Daphne's hands together as they rowed back to their ship.
"The cap'n's gonna like ya", one said.

Groves looked from Gillette to the longboat, panicking.
"What do we do, Sir?"
Daphne shuddered and looked at them nervously.
"Who's your captain? You are taking me back...aren't you?"

"We're going after her!" Gillette said. "Get the fastest ship you can. Get it prepared to set sail."
"That's up to Cap'n Blackbeard ta decide."

Groves started to turn away just as a large ship by the docks seemed to explode.
"Um, Lieutenant? That was our fastest ship..."
"Who's Captain Blackbeard?" Daphne asked nervously.
