Silently she followed him, not fully trusting herself to say anything about his apartment. She wondered if he even cared how messy it was or how disgusting the empty packets were. Her mother would completely disapprove of him and it made her like him more. Emma loved driving her mother near to insanity with her rebellious choices.
'So, I guess you bowl quite a bit,' she said, as it was the only thing she could think of saying without seeming rude.

She nodded a little. 'You make it sound like it's a bad thing. I was on a school swim team when I was a kid...that was before my father died and I went to boarding school.'

She shrugged, 'To each his own...I swim and ride horses, people now think of riding horses as chic, but I probably would have done some equestrian training. People doesn't realise that about horses.'

"Horseriding sounds like fun, but I've lived in the city all my life, not many horses around there," Tom smirked, getting back into the car.

'Joshua bought me a horse when my mum married him...I guess to either appease me or just because he could,' she said, following him. 'I still live in a major city...usually for seven to eight months of the year.'

"You're lucky you've got a stepfather who can afford to buy you horses and nice houses," Tom said as he started up the car. "A lot of people would kill for that lifestyle."
