Logan raised an eyebrow, "Their life won't be any nicer when mummy's too tired to sit up when she's home two hours a day." He said. He stopped walking, taking Mystique's hand to turn her to face him. "Listen, if money's the issue.." He dug a wrinkled beer-stained leaflet out of the pocket of his jacket and handed it over to her. It announced a series of cage fights in a bar called 'Tony's'. Tony happened to be one of Logan's coworkers, who mentioned the tournament after work, cos he'd seen Logan floor that guy with one punch the day before. That was the real reason Logan arrived late at Mystique's office. The leaflet announced the time and place, and price money - a couple hundred bucks for first place, then some for second and third. It was a fast and easy way to earn some extra money, and truth was, Logan would've joined anyway. "I signed up," He told her, keeping his gaze on her face while she read the thing.

Mystique looked from the leaflet to Logan. She shook her head. "No ... what happens when you come home with a bashed in skull? Or worse, don't come home at all! No Logan, I can't be a single parent when you get yourself killed like this,"

"I'm not gonna get myself killed, baby," Logan told Mystique, putting his hands on her shoulder to calm her down. "I get hurt, I stay down, I lose. That's the worst that can happen, alright?"

Mystique kept his gaze. "You better make damn sure you don't get injured. I don't want to be patching you up all the time,"

"You got it," Logan told her, pulling her closer for a kiss. He looked into her eyes again, "Hey, baby, don't worry. It's easy money and it's better to get into a fight there than at work." He shrugged.

Mystique put her arms around him in return and kissed him again. "I suppose it might help with your anger issues," She smirked a little. "As long as your family can come along and cheer you on," She gave him a slight grin.

"There's an empty room over there." Jack pointed over at the room across the the hall from hers.
"Thanks," said Scott, "seriously." He slammed the door. Jack sighed.

Logan gave her a smirk, "Course you can." He told her, moving his arm down around her waist as they continued their walk home.

They walked in the house and there was an immediate squeal of "Mummyyyyyyy! Daddyyyyyy!" as Lucy ran at them both for a hug.
"Hey sweetheart," Mystique smiled, hugging her in return. "How was school?"
"GREAT!" Lucy grinned, moving to her daddy with her arms in the air. "I got to come home early because I punched someone right in the nose!" Mystique glanced at Logan with an eyebrow raised.

Logan couldn't help but grin as he picked Lucy up, "Good for you." He told Lucy. Meeting Mystique's gaze, he gave her a slight smirk, "Doesn't matter, babe. There's school again tomorrow and now those bullies'll know to back the fuck off from our li'll boxer." He hugged Lucy.
