Nicolas looked over to Jane and couldn't help but smirk, "Dusty, old, and possibly infested with woodworms, yes. But I wouldn't say haunted." He told her.

"obviously you didn't hear the voices and footsteps I heard.." she shuddered and sat down next to him, "we should move fast, i don't feel like spending here another night"

"Ghost can't exist. Without solid mass, you wouldn't have the vocal cords to make any noise." Nicolas said, unable to resist a logical argument. He obviously doubted she'd heard anything at all, but that aside, he didn't mind her suggestion to move today. "Either way, moving on sounds good. I don't want to keep the General waiting."

Jane slapped him on his knee "you don't know what I did or didn't hear, you're just trying to find an explanation for something so scary so you won't be scared" she folded her arms and grunted "it was damn real"

Nicolas raised his hands in defense, amusement clearly written all over his face. "I'm not saying you didn't hear something. I'm just saying, it couldn't have been ghosts. Ghosts are just an insufficient explanation for noises that creep people out." He reasoned.

"blabla" Jane said and slapped his knee yet again. At that moment one of the saloondoors burst open, but there was noone there nor was the wind blowing enough to cause it. Jane let out a scream and moved her chair closer to Nicolas.
Jax laughed loudly, "Not afraid of guns and infamous outlaws but scared of a few ghosts" he laughed at Jane.

"Which aren't there," Nicolas reacted drily, throwing a look at Jax. Whether he managed to convince Jane or not, it seemed smart to at least try to reassure her that there was no such thing as haunted saloons. She did look scared, and he felt they didn't need to contribute any more to that. "It's an old town. All the houses creak and moan, it's no more than normal," He promised Jane again.

Jane quickly restored herself and moved her chair away, acting like she hadn't been afraid just a few seconds before 'Yeah, course, I know that. Old houses... they creak..." she nodded "so let's get out of here shall we?" she got up quickly.

"Sure.. I'll go see if Celia's awake by now." Nicolas offered, getting to his feet as well. The wound in his side burned somewhat with the movement, but it was no longer causing him to double over in pain. He was grateful that they'd found this town, and found the means to fix himself up within it. In contrast to the day before, he climbed the stairs with no difficulty, and went looking for Cecelia.

Jane watched Nicolas disappear up the stairs, then she walked behind the bar, filled a bowl with water from a jug she had filled earlier and washed her face.
