When I note Rae coming back updecks, I keep my gaze on her for a while. "Rae!" I then call her over, and I make a gesture that indicated her to come to the helm.

Feeling a rather panicking lurch in my gut, I squeeze my eyes shut for a moment, then turn 'round to walk the other way to see what he wants.

When she's with me at the helm I take her by the hand and pull her in front of me, so she's inbetween me and the wheel. I guide her hand until it's wrapped around one of the handles. "Here, hold this." I tell her, and I step back myself. "I'll be righ' back, love." I wink at her as I head to descend from the stairs.

I let out a relieved sigh when he does this, wanting to let out some sort of shriek. "Yes, yes, you don't know!" But I hold it back, biting my tongue and wondering as I steer what he's gone off to do. It'd taken me awhile to get the hang of sailing, but now finally I was fine at it. Not the best, but fine. And being fine is just good enough for me.

(haha, daz we'll keep you up to date, don't worry ) I head down the crewsquarters and then take the stairs down further belowdecks. The hold is more dimly lit, but I have no problem finding the door that I'm looking for. I stop in front of it. Cassandra's cabin. I fish my keyring out of the pocket of my coat and I find the appropriate key. I slip it into the lock and turn, but I find that it's not even necessary. I nudge the door open. Unlocked. That girl is as naive as daytime ever so often. I slip inside and close the door behind me again. Why am I here? Curiosity. Plain curiosity. I look through the cabin with interest. She's only got little stuff in here - always ready to travel light. But I crouch by the bag that belongs to her and open it, peering inside. I rummage through her stuff until I find what I might subconciously have been looking for. A shimmer of gold and bloodred ruby. I grin at the sight of the ring and I pick it up between thumb and forefinger, allowing it to twinkle in the little light offered by a burning candle.

(Ever right you are ;D)
Even in this short amount of time, guilt has reeked havoc on my conscience. "Well, it's time to suck it up," I mutter to myself. "Either keep a secret or don't." Can't keep it forever. Sighing, I put my head down on my arms, still on the wheel.

I take one of the rings of my fingers and I replace it by the ruby one. I glance at it for a while and then get up. Strangely enough, this one looks a lot less ancient than the rest. I should steal it back, actually. It's basically mine to begin with. But whatever it is that changes my mind, it results in me taking the ring off again. I chuck it onto the bed, on top of the covers where she'll find it, before I take of and head back updecks.
(eep, gonna go to sleep! Byee honey *wave*)

(Byes ) I know well not to ask what Jack's been doing, so I keep my mouth shut as he heads back towards me. Words have been a bit absent of late, anyway. And I'm just thinking that if he gets anywhere close to me I'm going to snap and tell him.

As I return to the helm I take the wheel back from Rae, though whilst doing so I catch her inbetween it and myself. I give her a c.ocky grin when she turns to look at her. "Fancy meeting you here, luv."
