"What is it with you and pretending not to know.. things that you know perfectly well already." I raise an eyebrow and let go of the ring so it falls to the floor.. "Maybe it belongs with her now." With that I turn away and lay back down.

I pick up the ring, brushing my thumb over the ruby red stone to see it didnt lose its shine. I look back to Cassandra, and consider taking it.. it's basically mine to begin with.

I lay there silently. Closing my eyes tightly.

I squint, trying to read the too-small and not very neat print of Sir Henry Morgan. You'd think if he cared a lot about the Brethren, he'd at least try to make his writing decent so's he could go back and read it later. Guess not. I keep reading steadily, searching for something. . . Suddenly I have an idea. It'd take way too long to search for individual clues. And I know it's stupid to want to trust something like this, but I flip the book shut, laying it exactly in the center of the desk. Closing my eyes, I open to a page that feels like. . .the right page. Reading through it, all I can hear is my heartbeat in the silence. And we shall bestow it upon seven persons to scatter the pieces to the winds, where None may Ever find Them. Seven pieces.

Instead of taking what is rightfully mine to begin with, I get up and drop the ring on the pillow next to Cassandra's head. I then turn to leave, without saying anything about it.

I dont move an inch. I shouldnt of even mentioned it because Its something that weve never even thought of saying to one another in the years that the rings have been part of us. I Hea him drop it beside my head and leave. I admit that it was a bad move, but at least its a chance for me to see him show some sort of emotion towards that side of our relationship. .. That treasure will be drawing closer soon, now that they found my first peice, to be honest I actually bought it from a market stall in tortuga. The woman selling the crap there didnt know much about any of it. I suppose her deceiced husband must of been a sailor.. quite a nortorious one. I didnt ask her, I dont know. But I do know that this fragment of hope is going to lead us to something big..

I keep reading, amazed that finding a random page had actually worked. At impossible locations, these Seven Deadly Sins will be hidden. Any man that shall find them is the work of the Devil Himself. Hmmm. Quite promising.

Hearing Jack's footsteps, I'm a bit excited to tell him what I've learned. Not that anything I read really helped, but at least now we'll know how many impossible things we're trying to find.
