After awhile, I wander back up the stairs onto the deck, spotting Jack but really no one else in particular. . .including Cassandra. I breathe a sigh of relief. Sleeping late, then. I stand there, feeling useless like my first day here.

I spot Rae standing there uncomfortably, and I gesture her to come over. "Luv, have ye seen Cassandra yet?" I ask. We're about ready to set sail.

He leaves me smiling like an idiot. D@man, I think. I turn around so no one starts staring. That's right. It's no concern of mine. NOT my problem. I can deal with that. Some strange unfamiliar feeling wells up inside me that I'm not sure about. Happiness? It seems so.
