Fierce Fires upon Misty Waters

Mary Read and Anne Bonny have been waiting for a oppertunity to leave Tortuga for some time now. They are stuck in this town, since there are only few pirate captains who dare to take these fierce lasses aboard. They recently found out about a treasure, and are eager to leave the safe shores and go out on the seas again... to find this treasure.

It's the treasure of Don Diego de Espinosa y Valdez. A Spanish pirate. He pulled off the great raid of Barbados, one of the most notoriously bloody pillages in all of Jamaica’s history. The pirates threatened to burn the city to ash, had the governor not met the captains ransom. He delivered to Don Diego four chests, each containing 25 thousands pieces of eight as ransom for sparing the city from the torch. The treasure was separated amongst Don Diego’s fleet, one ship took one of the chests, and his flagship the other three. Unfortunately for him, the flagship ran amongst some breakers and broke to splinters in a storm on his way back to Hispaniola. The treasure was lost to Davey Jones’ Locker.

But... the one chest survived. That's what they're after.

Then one day, Jack Sparrow arrives in Tortuga with his Black Pearl. Aboard his ship is also Jack Rackham. Together with the two girls they head for adventure.

Personality:
Anne can be cruel and harsh, but deep inside she’s really a nice girl. She has a passion for piracy, but also loves to dance – she had jobs as a performer before. She never let men get to her. Besides that, she has the characteristics that a true femme fatale has: seducing, confident, and… she’s lethal. She fights well with a sword, although she’s not that very strong – she’s quick, and agile.

Anne was born illegitimately in Ireland, after her father, William Cormac, had a short affair with Mary Brennen (the maid in the household of her father and his wife). The first years of her life her father hid the truth about Anne’s true mother from the society, and Anne had a difficult life dealing with the fury and loathing that her father’s wife had towards her. Regular trashing and getting blamed for everything were part of her daily routine. Crying herself to sleep every night, Anne wanted to escape her life more than anything.

When the society found out about the truth, Mary, the young Anne and her father were forced to leave Ireland in shame. By now, the young Anne was a true tomboy. But when they settled in Charleston, and were soon accepted by the upper crust of the community, young Anne had to do a 180 degrees turn, and become a truly respectable lady. She hated it. Although she didn’t get beaten anymore, she was captured in a corset, and with every manner that was forced into her head, she became more of a rebel.

Therefore she took the first chance she had to leave the town she hated that much. The opportunity offered itself in the form of James Bonny, a pirate who was willing to take her along. On their first journey, Anne killed for the first time. She killed James. She stole his name, so nobody of her past would find her, and she welcomed her new life with arms wide open.

Nowadays, Anne is a fierce pirate lass – and a true femme fatale. She’s the girl that will write history.
