Xanthe "Xan" Ivy sat on the soft alabaster sands, outsite her sea side house, looking at a two inch by three and a half inch by five inch music box. She was tinkering with the geers. The box hadn't played in ten years.
"GAH! NOTHINGS WORKING! It'll never work!" Xan yelled frustrated as she threw the box onto the sands.
The box suddenly started to play a sweet yet depressing melody. Xan's head turned to the box. "IT'S WORKING!" she started to crawl toward it; but, a sand crab got to it first. Starting to carry it away. "NO! THAT'S MINE!" she started to feverishly crawl after the moving box. "THAT'S MINE!" she tackled the box and crab. She grabbed the crab by the back and threw it into the water.

The sky started to darken, as the clouds swirled with the on coming of a severe storm - or possible hurricane - when the sky had been nothing by clear all along... Key west wasn't too big... but if it got slammed, than most of it would be wrecked, Old Key West Towne that was... and she was sitting at the southern most point of the USA ... she would get hit hard...
A mysterious fog started to roll in, closing in around her as the sky fell a gray green, casting everything to look as though it were in a black and white movie... a large form started to loom through the fog, towards her...

Xanthe scooted backwards beyond scared. She looked around and grabbed the nearest object. "BACK AWAY! I GOT A---" she looked at the object then back at the figure, "---I GOT A COCONUT AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO USE IT!!"

But the object continued to loom closer, coming out of the gloom, revealing what it was, a large, warn out old Brigantine... with a young man, drenched with Seaweed in his hair, and his hair pulled back with a faded bandanna at the helm. His clothing was worn out and ratty in places...

Xanthe's eyes widened as the ship ran aground and would have ran over her if she hadn't tucked and rolled out of the way. Much like in movies when someone runs from an explosion.
The box sat un damaged on the sand; playing it's song.

The man took an old rope and used it to drop himself down... landing in the shallows... where he stayed as he reached out towards the music box...

"HEY!" Xan yelled throwing the coconut at him, "THAT'S MINE!"
"I didn't spend ten years trying to fix that thing for nothing--" she grumbled as she dove for the box.

He ducked so that the coconut didn't hit him...
"And who be you to tell me that ye be the owner of this here music box?"

Xan glared at him; clutching the music box to her chest. "I found it ten years ago in my attic"

"In you attic... well let me tell ye something Miss... that music box does not belong to ye, unless ye be Calypso... which I highly doubt"
