It is late in the afternoon when I leave my small appartment. You can still feel the heat of the day which doesnt have the chance to escape of the city. It's a hot summer in Phoenix. Not like that is unusual, but I notice it every year again. With my bag around my shoulder - you know in this way that it can't get stolen - I make my way towards the center of the town. At the moment I do not have the money for taking the subway or a cab. After about 20 minutes walking I can already hear the place I'm heading to and a grim smile appears on my face. I open my bag and pull a hand of flyers out of it, starting to hand it to random people I meet on the side walk, while continueing walking towards the sound

Sean is already there, shouting in a megaphone to his listeners; the crowd of about 200 demonstrants standing infront of him...and the ones who aren't really paying attention to what he's talking about, but checking everything up anyway; the police patrols standing by their iron-fence. Sean thought from the start that putting up a fence was contradicting the true meaning of why him and the other demonstrants were there at all; to demonstrate against unjustice and the Cold War. So putting up a fence to separate, limit and hinder isn't really what he feels fit right now, but he doesn't say anything. He greeted some cops before getting on the little stage, just to reasure them that this demonstration will not be violent, but the cops faces were as made of stone and didn't care what Sean had to tell them.
"....AND WE'RE NEVER GIVING UP! SEND THE SOLDIERS BACK HOME, THEY HAVE NOTHING THERE TO DO! WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS IS NOT THIS WAR, BUT PEACE, LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING!" the crowd cheered at his words and he continued in the megaphone; "PEACE FOR ALL SPIECES, LOVE BETWEEN DIFFERENCES AND UNDERSTANDING..." he paused as the crowd got louder. "...AND UNDERSTANDING FOR ALL MAN KIND!" he removed the megaphone from his mouth and took a sip from his waterbottle as the crowd continued cheering.

I hear someone hold a speach through a microphone, still handing out flyingers untill I start to run low on them, so I save some for later. I walk closer to the crowd. It is bigger then the one yesterday..and the day before, which is really good. For a moment my eyes dart towards the police officers who stand there like an iron curtain, not letting anyone pass. I cheer at the words of the guy who was talking. I can't really see him because I came too late to stand somewhere close to him, but hearing is already enough.

"...AND THAT'S ALL FOR ME TODAY, THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND FOR YOUR EARS. WORLDPEACE!" he ends his speech. He has been standing there for 30 minutes and his throath starts getting soar. He takes his waterbottle and walks off the little stage, highfiving some people that supports him and he walks 'backstage'.
"Good job, Sean!" he claps his hands as Sean walks into the little tent behind the stage
he smirks. "no talking for me for awhile!" he says with a hoarse voice and grabs his bag and pulls up a sandwich and starts munching.
"You had more speeches to deliver today?"
he shook his head as he munched the sandwich
"Got any flyers then?"
he swallows and shakes his head. "I'm gonna do the Walk later though"
"You really shouldnt speak...you sound like hell" he smirks but his smirk fades. "Hey, you know the cop has banned the Walk this time, right?"
"Well..." he took a sip of his water. "I'm gonna talk to them about it, so you keep the crowd calm, alright?"
he sighed and gave him a look. "I'll try..."
He grins. "See ya later, I'm gonna...mingle!" he swallows the rest of the sandwich and walks out among all the people

Not much later I see someone I know and the guy greets me enthausiasticly. He hands me a new bunch of flyers which I accept happily. As soon as I stored all the flyers in my bag, I start handing them out already again. People accept them, almost none rejects them and a smile appears on my face. Today is a good day. Someone who is actually able to speach is doing the speaches and not someone who just pretends to be intrested and just rambles a lot of crap. I make my way through the crowd slowly, coming closer to the frond of it, where the stage is. The people around me are in a great mood. It is almost a bit like.. being one big family.

"AND HERE IS SEAN! EVERYBODY GIVE IT UP FOR SEAN!" the man shouts who's on the stage with the megaphone now, giving his speech and he looks at Sean
the crowds starts cheering and turns to look at Sean. He grinns and gives a peace-sign.
"THAT'S SEAN! ALRIGHT, NOW BACK TO ME! WHAT REALLY DOES THE PRESIDENT KNOWS ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS HERE IN OUR CITY, EH?!"
he sees people walking with flyers in their hands and he tries to get a good look as he passes some, but he can't really make out what the flyers are all about. "I want a flyer aswell..." he mutters. He collects flyers and other things used from the different demonstrations he has attended

The flyers I'm handing out is a protest against nuclear weapons. It is a call to all the people to spread them if they get them into their hands. About the terror the bombs of Heroshima and Nagasaki caused in 1945 and the fact that our own govournment still has weapons like this. And aswell about the fact that the USSR has them, most likly pointing at us right now. It is like a guitinne, a falling axe, aswell hanging above the head of the USSR aswell above our own. The countries have the possibility to destroy the enemy, though they would aswell destroy themselves. I keep handing people flyers, before pausing for a moment to take new ones out of my bag

Suddenly he gets a flyer like that into his hand by someone who shouts; "STOP NUCLEAR WEAPONS NOW!" straight into Seans ear. Sean takes his indexfinger to the now ringing ear and pushes the tragus and massages it to make his ear stop ringing, then he sees a girl having tons of those flyers standing among the crowd and handing them out. He walks up to her. A new face. Normally all the faces on demonstrations are fairly familiar to Sean, but not this one. "Hey" he smiles as he reaches her and he holds up the flyer. "Good flyers! You make them yourself?"

I look up when someone starts talking to me. The voice of the guy is pretty hoarse and I smile at him "Hey.. Yes thank you, I make them together with a friend." I almost drop an entire bunch of the flyers when I try to hold out my hand for him to shake. I sigh. I'm pretty clumbsy actually and it is not really handy. I manage to trip over my own feet even if the ground is entire flat and free of obstacles. "I'm Dee"

"Sean" he clears his throath. "Excuse me.." he coughs to his side and then looks back at Dee and points at his throath. "Amazing how the throath always hurts after been trying to send out your message, right?" he smirks slightly and looks around and then points at the flyers she's holding. "you...you need a help with that? I'm not doing anything for an hour now so.."
