" Do you believe that I cannot do it? Do you believe that I cannot hang you for what you have done me, Marie?. Now you try to become the innocent one with me saying to me that hang to Besamuel .... ". Beckett separated of her sighing, defeated, aggrieved, furious and rapidly it took his cane, in his interior had hidden a saber and he aimed at her with rapidly his neck. His blue eyes shone of hate and of a passion that was growing .... emotions and past feelings were recovering more force little by little.
" It will be better that it kills you here, without anybody around us. Your son really does not matter for me, Marie ".
Lied.

The blade against her neck was strangely refreshing. She did not fear death. She knew full well her son would be safe and happy living with his grandfather at the plantation.
"Do it Cutler." Her voice was venemous, "slit my throat. I will not stop you."
The edge of the knife cut deeper, splitting the skin. She felt warm blood trickle from the insubstantial wound. His fury was dangerous, she could see this now. Her life lay in the balance.

He pressed the sheet of his saber against his neck and saw his blood sliding for his neck up to the neckline of his dress, his eyes shone and it bit his low lip a little answering her. " If you had said it to me earlier, Marie, now he would not be married with Amandine. Our son might have been the solution of our marriage ". He when said the latter word, again the hate blocked up and pressed it more his sabre against his neck.

She gasped, the pain of the saber against her neck intense.
"You love Amandine, nothing I said would have stopped her marrying her Cutler. Besides, since you left me, I have been unable to find you."
Breathing became increasingly difficult, "IF YOU WANT ME DEAD, JUST GET IT OVER WITH DAMN IT!"

He squinted his eyes and pressed a little more his sword until sighed dropping her to the floor. Under his face and he pressed his handles saying to her. " I alone have loved a woman in my life ". He dared to confessed without her looking at the eyes.

"I have only ever loved one man in my life, Cutler, and you know who that is."
She rubbed her throat, grimacing at the sight of the blood. "I suspect I shall have a scar from that."
She watched him, still leaning up against the wall. Although he refused to make eye contact, she could see his fury, his discomfort. To see emotion on the man was a rare occurance.
"I am sorry for any...damage...I have caused you, my love."

"Fully deserved well you have obtained this scar. And please, do not call me my love. You do not know the damage that you do to me calling that way. You are like the piranhas, you eat and eating my heart slowly ". He answered without looking at her, only it was looking at the golden ring that he had in his finger, sign of a commitment and of an union. But Marie was not hoping that he was coming out it with anger and was throwing it strongly against the window breaking like that the crystal.
In his cabin only it was possible to hear the sound of the broken glazing and his rough respiration. It was trying to be a cold again and calmed as he it had always been, but with Marie, could not do it.

"I - I am ...so sorry." Her voice emerged as a panicked whisper.
She had seen him like this only a few times. The first was the night they had first been together. The passion then had been sexual. The second time was when he left her, when he declared her a whore. She remembered that day vividly, how he had roughly taken her against the wall, branding her for a last time before leaving her life. It had been then that their son had been concieved.
Now, his anger was venemous, but rather than leave, she wanted to experience his reaction to her...she wanted to ignite the passion...she wanted him.

"Saying ' Im sorry', you dont resolved nothing, Marie. You keep on being a girl. A girl who comes to my ship saying to me that I have a son, a son who has been hidden so that I do not know it. How do you believe that I must feel, Marie? ". He closed over her slowly, his sarcastic words went out of his lips while it was looking at her fixedly until corner her in the wall. It saw the blood still running for his neck and for his breasts and without doubting it, he extracted of the pocket of his exact breeches his handkerchief,a delicate white handkerchief with his embroidered initials. And in silence, he cleaned the wound with gentleness, without touching his skin with his fingers, slowly without her stopping looking at the eyes.

The breath caught in her throat. His touch was soft, tantalising, seductive, so different from the violence of before. Her blood boiled with unwanted desire. She longed for the touch of those fine lips, the languid caresses of his hands. The pain of her wound was barely comprehendable in comparison to the soft touch of silk, and of his fingers.
He knew he had this effect...he knew he was torturing her.
