"Yeah...yeah," I say. I devoted everything to him. Everything! And I don't get anything in return. Katie wiped my tears. It would soon be all over. I knew, that some day, somehow, I'd get a Mr. Right.
I feel so sick. It's odd, what's happened. Last thing I remember, I was talking to Katie in an alleyway, drunk. But I'm on a ship! And I never do that well on a ship. Oh well. And-Great Scott! It's Scarlett! And-and-she's crying!
"Scarlett, are you-what-are you okay?" I ask. "What happened?"
"Your sister, Kass, your sister," I say.
"Well, she does act a bit annoying sometimes, but she isn't that bad," Kass said. Ah wells, no support there. "But if it's about Jack-" she looked over. It was, and she noticed that. "He's not worth your time! He's not-he doesn't...He doesn't deserve you, Scarlett!" Some words of comfort. I smiled, and She and Katie took me by the arm.
"Besides," Katie said. "I think Captain Marcus Teague has some interests in said fair lady."
"Said fair lady?" I asked. That's....odd....who is said fair lady.
"You, dum-dum," Katie said. I laughed. I guess the hole in my heart is sealing off. It's no problem.
Meanwhile, hidden in a supernatural area undersea somewhere around the Caribbean, Calypso, in the most beautiful form she has ever been, as a water-maiden and goddess of the seas, is speaking at a meeting with all of her Sea Nymphs. Eve, however, is not present, and they have come to discuss.
"THE MEETING HAS BEGUN," says an assistant of mine. Ha. She acts so full of herself. Perhaps morphing her into a crab rather than a mermaid would be better. But, I need her as an assistant, or I can never get to view the death of Eve. Evangeline, she was called, as a Sea Nymph. What extreme similarities.
Well, I should begin speaking.
"I hope all of you remember of a certain Sea Nymph who took fancy to humans," I say. All 12 other Sea Nymphs nodded in agreement. There were few common mermaids present, but I paid no heed to them. They are commoners, and as I had learned during my short human life, commoners care not. "Evangeline. Why, her twenty-fifth year is almost up! And, I don't think anything-erm-interesting or useful has come out of her life. Have you?"
All nodded and spoke excitedly in agreement. All, but one. Marsielle, her name was. Queen of the Caspian sea, who had been residing near the Island Tortuga for the past three months. She raised a sparkling purple flag, showing the rest of us, that she needed to speak. I, being the wonderful Goddess I am, agreed. "Speak, Marsielle."
"Dear Goddess Calypso," she began. I smirked. What sort of lowly girls these were. I had all the authority I needed! "I have to tell you of Evangeline's latest doings."
At this I looked straight at her. What has been going on? "Continue," I said. I couldn't keep a fearful look. I maintained my look of pride.
"She has been bound by prophecy, Dear Goddess. The prophecy which you gave, as a human, to Jack Sparrow. The prophecy which binds them both forever. The prophecy which, in fact, can never be broken and will allow her to live forever with him...should they find the Fountain of Youth," Marsielle said. I gave a cold, high laugh.
"I can always undo the prophecies I create, Marsielle, so therefore I did not give him that prophecy. Don't worry. I think we'll have to come up with a plan..." And that we must. If we are to restore our exact immortality, we must be the original thirteen Sea Nymphs, Evangeline as one. And that is the only way I will ever be immortal. If she stays human with...witty Jack....then she truly is endangering not only the sea and herself, but those she loves most. And that, unfortunately for her, means I can kill her, her sisters, and Jack himself. Sorry, Jack, but once....is definently more....than enough...
