For a tavern in a 'respected' port I notice that the crowd is surprisingly varied. Eventhough most people seem of Spanish origin, there's a divirsity of races and nationalities nonetheless. Ah well, in the diverse crowd it'll be one hell of a lot easier to go unnoticed.
Or, less noticed anyhow.
I'm usually one for big entrances, don't be making that mistake. But today seems a good day to keep a low record until I at least had one or two drinks. I take my hat of -a small amount of rainwater streams down from the corner- and put it on top of the bar. "Rum, luv." I tell the barmaid who gives me a questioning glance (not just for the order, as much for the appearance, I suppose).
Once I get my drink I turn around and lean my back against the bar, scanning the crowd of the tavern once more.

I take another long swig of my drink and put the mug back upon the table. Its cold in here... but then again that could just be me. Everywhere i go i can just always seem to find this stone cold breeze against me... and it breaks me down inside. Sometimes i find myself forgetting what its even like to feel warmth. To feel the sun beating down upon my skin.
I sigh. I dont even know how im going to be able to pay for any of these drinks without making myself skint again.

The first half of my mug is gone within no time, and I'm starting to feel considerably warmer again. Though I suppose some company wouldn't hurt. While taking a good glance throughout the tavern I concluded that most tables were occupied by two or more people, and only a few by some lonesome souls. Picking one out at random (well, not all too random), I saunter over to one of those tables with a single soul occupying 'em.
"Evenin' luv." I greet the girl, sitting down on the spare chair without waiting for an invitation. I put my hat down on the table and put the mug down next to it.

I nod as a reply to that, and I lean back in my chair lazily. Picking up the rum once more, I observe my new-found company. Her hair as well as her eyes are darkish, and eventhough she looks generally annoyed at the moment she does appear to be pretty. "Well then!" I speak up, after a silence that lasted only for a few seconds but seemed long enough to me, "Don't consider it a tacky line, luv.." I raise an eyebrow and smirk, " well, feel free to if you so desire." I correct myself, "But what's a lass such as yourselves doing drinkin' by her onesies on an evening such as these?"

"Fair enough." I smirk, and I take another sip from the mug before I lean forward and fix my gaze on her, "Capt'n Jack Sparrow's the name, luv, but don't wear it out." I wink, "And ye are?"

"I would be surprised if you had, luv." I smirk. I lift the mug again and down the last gulp of rum. When I put it down again I shove the thing a little further onto the table, so it's not in the way. "Anyhow," I continue, "are you from here?" I ask. If she is, maybe she would know who to turn to to get supplies and such.

"... no im not. Its all pretty new to me.. being so close to the sea and all."
