"yeah,dey do, it's a bit of a walk dough," Jack said,then heard the last thing then said, " I guess we betta maek the strike oficial today,an' den get da people we's said we would."
"wait til I get my coffee." Racetrack muttered behind them as they came up on the little wagon the nuns were on.He ran ahead and got the first cup of coffee they handed out. "I don' get why dey give kids coffee, it jus' makes us more hypa"
"Sos people,like you won' fall asleep where dere standin' " Jack said, "plus it makes ya more bearable."
(( In the movie during "Carryin' da Banner" those nuns got on my nearves!lol Now I fast forward through that everytime I watch Newsies!))

David smiled at the young nun that handed him a biscuit and cup of coffee. He thanked her.
"Yeah, Race. I'd say that you are a total bear in the morning. Please drink that whole cup! We've got stuff to do, today."
"Jack, you know what yer doin'? I'm writing the article and spreading to Hearst's newsies."
He reached up and took a piece of bread for Les. Les took it and ate it quickly.

(( nothing much has happened,it's in the morning,their getting ready for the strike. you could just have Sarah walk up. Oh and David and Les stayed at the Newsies lodging house since David was sposed to be at school.))
Racetrack laughed,draining the rest of the cup then tossing it back in the nuns buggy. "thanks." he mutterd, then said to David, "Well,you aint' gotta worry bout dat anymore. I'm awake now."
"Good,bout time you poked up.Cause yous gotta go to Shepshead today," Jack said.
"Way ahead of yas." Racetrack said as a cart went by,he grabbed hold and hitched a ride to the other side of town where the tracks were.
Jack just shook his head, "I laready got my guys filled in on da strike, I might team up wit
Spot and help him wit da Brooklyn newsies.Dere pretty ruff, and it'll take more dan Spot sometimes ta get um ta listen."

Spot woke up with his arms around Eliza. He noticed no sun, so snuggled back up to Eliza under the covers. 'Good thing she lives alone, then I won' hafta do any splaining' he thought to himself. Eliza stirred and mumbled, "I gotta get up, it's time though there no sun, we facing the wrong way." Spot was dissapointed since he was content with her in his arms. "A, we gotta?"
"Yup, sorry sweets"

Spot dropped Eliza off at the diner and ran to the newsies he heard arund the nun's wagon. "What'd we be up ta today jacky boy? What'd ya wanta me to be doin?"

"I don' need no help talking to mu guys, but ya can come ifn' ya wanna." Jack and Spot started the day long walk to Brooklyn in silence every once in a while teasing each other about their girls. They walked to Spot's territory where he called every one to come.
"Jacky boy and his guys are doing strike again, an they need help. It's gonna be bigga then eva' an' we gonna help em'! Right boys?!"
Spot was answered by an arousing "Yas!"
Spot grinned out at his boys, then at Jack next to him. "I guess this is gonna be bigger than eva' Jacky boy, hope your ready for this."
To the crowd of newsies in front of him spot said, "Jacky boy and me'll call ya wen we ready wit all the oters. Jus go back to wat ya were doin but alays be ready!"
The boys meandered away. Jack and Spot stayed the night at spot's apartment since he found his key at the diner under the bar. They left early next morning to Jacks territory to tell the news of Spots gang sticking with them.

Jack and Spot showed up just after RAcetrack had had his coffee, "How'd it go at Shepshead Race?" Jack asked.
"Da owner said he was in, apparently his sons a Newsie in Queens and he dunnit like tightwads who take advantage of da boys of New York." Race said,grinning.
"Good," Jack said, "Wheres Davey?" he asked.
"Ah,he was here a while ago, how should I know I ain't da kids keepa." Race said.

David ran up to the group of newsies and searched through them for Jack, calling his name.
When he found him, he was out of breath. Jack told him to calm down, but David was too excited.
"I found him," David managed breathing heavily, "I found Denton! He just got off the train. He was heading to his newspaper's offices. He's got a story from the war-" David took a deep breath.
"He's staying at the hotel on 10th Street."
