It was half past three and (high)school had just finished for Nikki. She walked over to her bike and unlocked it. She would meet Gilbert after work to have a drink at the diner, together with Arnie. Nikki first went over to his house, to pick up Arnie. She threw her bike on the ground and went over to the door "Arniiiee!?! Are you ready to go already?" She shouted, not wanting to come in and disturb mrs. Grape's privacy. Since a while now she was pretty much living litteraly in the livingroom.. "iiiiiiii, drinking with Gilbert!" Arnie ran outside and hugged Nikki "You look pretty today Nikki" he grinned and sucked on his finger."Thank you Arnie, you look pretty too" She said. She knew that Arnie was sort of having a crush on her, Gilbert had told her a while ago, saying Arnie talked about her all the time at home. She thought it was sweet but definitly not something to get into  "Come on, let's go" she grabbed her bike and gestured for Arnie to sit on the back of it. |

"Mr Lamson?" Gilbert called as he untied his apron and hung it on the hook inside the office. "I'm off for today,"
"Alright Gilbert, have a nice night," Mr Lamson called back from behind of the shelves. "Take some candy for Arnie if you like,"
"Thank you," Gilbert said, picking out a packet of Arnie's favourite and leaving the shop. Gilbert got into his truck and drove to the diner to meet Arnie and Nikki.

"Be careful!" Nikki screamed in a girly way when they had reached the diner but Arnie was swaying behind her. Nikki got off "Come on, I bet Gilbert is already inside waiting for us!" She grinned as Arnie ran into the diner with a lot of noise.
She slowly followed. He was a great kid but sometimes a bit too loud and attention-needing, but she was used to it by now.
Nikki looked around for Gilbert.

Gilbert was sitting down at one of the tables by the window when Arnie came running in.
"Gilbert Gilbert Gilbeeeert!" Arnie yelled running over to his brother and jumping on his back.
"Hey Arnie," Gilbert said, peeling his brothers arms from around his neck. "If you sit down and behave I've got a present for you,"
"A present for Arnie?" He asked, sitting down and staring at Gilbert expectantly.
Gilbert took out the packet of sweets and held them out to him. "What do you say Arnie?"
"Thank you, thank you, thank you,"
Gilbert turned to look for Nikki, he saw her walking in and grinned, waving her over.

"heyy" Nikki sat down at the table. She saw Arnie, opening some sweets in silence "Wow, aren't you the best big brother ever" Nikki winked at Gilbert "How are you?" she asked while taking off her coat. Ever since he graduated from high school last year she didn't see him on a daily basis anymore. Something she regretted but had to deal with..

"Oh you know, same as usual," Gilbert rolled his eyes. He watched Arnie open his sweets and play with them, pushing them around the table. "Arnie, arent you going to offer Nikki one?"
Arnie looked up at them both and quickly pushed all the sweets into his mouth. "All gone!" He said, not wanting to share.
Gilbert shrugged at Nikki, trying not to laugh. "How was your day?"

Nikki smiled "it was okay, rough, had another exam, my last one though! In two weeks I know whether I've passed or not..." She smiled broadly and looked at Gilbert "no exciting news from Lamson's shop ? " she grinned. his job seemed boring to her but she knew he had to put up with it, for his family's sake.

"Not unless you want half price pickles," Gilbert smirked. "You'll have done great in your exam, just like all the others. We should celebrate your last exam," Gilbert smiled. "I'll buy you an ice cream," He said, knowing getting ice cream was about the most fun you could have in Endora.

Nikki smiled broadly "a strawberry and chocolat icecream? " she said with enthusiasm in her voice, she loved ice cream. "And I'm not sure how I did all of them.. I don't want to think about them anymore, I just wanna have fun now, for two weeks straight. With you" She smirked.

Gilbert grabbed his coat and went out to his truck. He picked up Nikki's bike and carefully put it in the back.
