She smiled a little, because she realised that what she felt last year wasn't silly. It was part of her growing up..
"But..we're friends.. you don't have to tell me those kind of things" She smirked a little, feeling uncomfortable.

"I wanted to," Gilbert smiled. "Besides, who else is going to tell you if not your best friend in the whole world?" He smirked, neither of them had boyfriends or girlfriends, they both had other friends but noone they were particularly close to.

"Well... Gary said it once" she chuckled "But that was two years ago" she shrugged, she wasn't that close to other guys. The town did not really have boyfriend worthy material and for some reason she always compared guys to Gilbert..
"Thank you anyway" she smiled and fed him a grape. "This picnic is hip" she giggled.

"Mmmm, it is good, isnt it?" Gilbert smirked. "If I do say so myself. And ... look what I picked up for you, from Lamsons," Gilbert dived into the picnic basket and found Nikki's favourite type of cake.

"You'll have so much fun in the big city, you wont even think twice about little ol' Endora," Gilbert smiled, trying to keep it light.
"I dont know what I'll do with my evenings once you're gone though, I'll have to drag Arnie out of bed for ice cream at odd times in the morning," Gilbert laughed, he had been known to wake her up in the middle of the night when he couldnt sleep, or just felt like getting out of the house.

Nikki grinned "Poor Arnie, I'll miss your crazy night-moods" She said, cuddling him slightly "but you can still call me at crazy times in the night" She suggested "Though I'm not sure if I will answer" she laughed.
