"It's in me blood, I suppose. Da ran off to be a pirate when I was one." She said, looking at her nails. She was never really mad at her father because she didn't blame him. Naomi wanted to roam the open oceans and see everything she could lay her eyes on. If she could, no matter the reason, she would be happy.
"Yes, no, nope, and not until recently." She said, answering his last few questions quickly. "But what about you? Where have you been?"

"With me, love, in these waters, it's more of where haven't I been. This is my first time in Tortuga, but I've been to most of the islands, Port Royal. Charleston. England too." He gave a slight shrug, having not thought of his motherland England for some time.

Naomi went wide eyed and leaned forward much like he had before. She envied him now, her eyes sparkling in wonder. She wanted to hear about everything he had seen, the what he had done parts entirely his business. "That's amazing. Goodness, I'd love to go out and see things. But I wouldn't be any good on a ship..."

"Well, Ms. King, I have a feeling you are a quick learner. Truly, a ship is easy to handle once you know what needs to be done and how." Kaleb paused, trying to word his next thought in such a way that wouldn't scare the young woman off. "I have a ship, a small sloop called the Sea Storm....if you want, I can teach you some basic seamanship. She's on the market though, so we may not have too much time, for as soon as I find a Captain willing to take me on I won't need her anymore."
"You know, if you really want to see the world, you should join a crew as well. You've no quarrels over having to wear pirate dress, so half the battle is surely won." he laughed.

"Oh! You're too nice to me. I'm but a stranger to you and you've offered to help me. Thank you very much. I wouldn't mind joining a crew, which should be easier if you've taught me. But..." She paused and frowned slightly, "I'd have to pay you back somehow. I don't take anything without giving even a small thing back."
If this man was willing to part some knowledge, she would surly take him up on the offer. Naomi would have to repay him, like she said. I'm so glad I decided to come here.

Kaleb shook his head, sorry this fine young woman had been hidden from the world. In some ways, her tale reminded him of his own, and he realized they had several things in common. "Payment, eh? Well, since you insist." A pause. "Have you any sewing skills, Ms. Kings? If you make me a coat, a thick, tough frock that could survive my voyages at sea, I will gladly teach you what I know. That and the knowledge that you finally made it off this rock and into the world would surely be payment enough, love."

If Naomi had learned anything while hidden away, it was sewing and singing. She was far too shy to admit it to anyone else, though the latter one was going to remain a fact known only to her. But her skills is sewing had lead her to making a dress for her mother, which the old bag used to lure men. A quick snarl came to her innocent features, but left just as it came. "A coat you shall have, if you'll allow me the time to make it," She said, "Should only take me a few days."

Kaleb saw the strange grimace pass over Naomi's face, but chose not to say anything, instead furrowing his brows slightly and silently wondering what had caused such a reaction.
"Take your time. I have vast stores of seamanship in me head, so the longer you take the more you'd learn. A few days at least is needed for the most basic of knowledge anyways, so no worries at all love. Plus I wouldn't mind seein' more of you besides." He grinned and offered a hand. "So we have an accord then?"

Naomi blushed when he said he wanted to see more of her, her smile growing more. She took his hand and shook it gently, noticing how rough his hands were. She didn't mind it, but it was new to her to be even shaking hands with a man. If her mother new, she'd throw a fit.
"We do. If you don't mind, we could go to my home. I need to look for some material."

Kaleb gave a shrug. "Sounds good to me. It's a nice night for a walk as well." With that he stood, pushed in his chair - surely the only one in the establishment who had ever done so - and waved for Naomi to go before him and lead the way out of the tavern.
