Alex took a step back and then turned without every really taking a look at him.

Thomas followed her, but before he did, he made sure he heard Lucy locking the door. Before they reached the deck, he grabbed Alex arm and swung her around, pushing her up against a wall.
"If you or anyone else on this ship as much as lay a finger on Lucy, I'm gonna kill you!" He shook her and pushed her violently against the wall again. "I'll kill you!" he let go of her and quickly walked up on deck before she could get back at him.

Alex rolled her eyes-- he could threaten her all he wanted, but it made no difference to her.
"Yer goin' the wrong way!"
She called after him and made a gesture down another hallway where she wanted him to follow.

Alex led him into a much more spacious cabin and shut the door after him. She didn't bother with locking it, as she knew he'd freak out and think she planned to murder him... like she'd be bold enough to defy Luke's orders.
In my dreams.
She pointed to the table in the middle of the room as she moved to a cabinet.
"Lay down and take off yer pants."

Alex held up a medical tool as she turned towards him, "You want that bullet to stay in yer leg? Ye'll die of infection within two days, an' then who's ta' stop the boys from touchin' yer girl?"

He looked at her in silence, but then pulled up the leg of his pants and said:
"I can do it myself..."
he took a deep breath and then pushed two fingers into his bullet-wound. grimacing in pain but didn't utter a word. Soon he dropped the bloody bullet on the table and looked at Alex, pale and with sweaty face.
"now I'm gonna get back to my girl"
he turned around and started limping towards the door. He was good at numbing his body from pain, but sometimes it did hurt, but he didn't utter a sound then.

Alex raised a brow, "Not so fast. Yer to sign the articles of the ship. Ye stupidly agreed to come aboard, now yet gonna pay for it."

He stopped in his tracks and turned and looked at Alex.
"You don't seem too keen on being here...telling my girl to lock the door...like you'd care! And now seem to feel sorry for me? Thought you was gonna encourage us to stay?" he said sarcastically.
