Alexandra Harth stood at the railing of the black as night ship. Her eyes were lingering on the dim lights of Port Rochelle-- so innocent and so unaware. It made her sick... She turned her head when she heard the heavy familar boots on the deck.
Luke looked over at the port, rubbing his scratchy chin. He was rougishly handsome for an older man, but his eyes were the type of evil that you didn't want to mess with. He paused a moment longer before speaking and a low voice, "Lower the longboats, keep quiet, ya' blasted fools. Half of ye' stay 'ere and the other 'alf go to shore." He turned slightly and pointed out the gunner, "Load the cannons and wait fer' me order." He nodded and the men went about to do what he wanted. Luke walked over to Alex, "I wan' ya' to be the one to take 'em in Port, luv. First sound o' cannons, you take no mercy, eh?"
"Aye." Alex agreed with a short nod of her head.

In a small and poor cottage in that port, Thomas laid sleeping on a matress on the floor. His arm was resting around his girlfriend Lucy who was 7 months pregnant. They slept peacefully until Lucy woke up with a jerk, which made Thomas quickly sit up. "What's wrong, honey?"
"I need too..!" she quickly hurried up towards an open window and she threw up out of it.
Thomas couldn't help but smirking. "That's...nice!"
Lucy turned around looking at him and wiping her mouth. "Well you try to be pregnant then!" She laid down beside him again
"No goodnight-kiss"
"Come on!" she pouted with her lips and tried to kiss him
"No way!" he turned his head away and chuckled. "go back to sleep!"
Lucy smiled and turned around and closed her eyes and smiled as Thomas held her in his arms again

Luke turned on his crew now, keeping his voice low, but angry, "Basty Devils! Hurry up! We've only got the cover of no moon fer' as long as these clouds last. Who knows when they'll do away with!" He hissed softly and turned back to Alex when she pulled his sleeve.
"James--" Alex started.
"He's in the cabin, like he always is." Luke grunted, then pushed her a bit towards the long boats, "On yer way."
Alex stumbled, then righted herself and got into one of the longboats with a few other men. In all, she counted, a little less than 40 men were going ashore... and the port wasn't extremely big. They'd slaughter it.

Thomas hadn't fallen asleep again. He was laying awake, holding Lucy and thinking about what he had to do the next day; try to sell some more fruit..he hated it, but he needed to be able to support his family-to-be with the tiny money he could get

Alex let the other men paddle them out to the beach shoreline. She was the first one to jump over the side into the knee deep water. She looked back at Luke's ship, just in time to see an explosion and hear a cannonball whistle through the air and hit the fort wall high above their heads. She couldn't keep from grinning a moment, then she turned to look at the crewmen that were climbing out of the boats. "DO YER WORST, YA BASTARDS!" She yelled, pulling her sword, "TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!"
"GIVE NOTHIN' BACK!"
Alex grinned as the men chorused her and they all took off up the beach and into the heart of Port Rochelle.

Thomas who had slumbered, quickly jerked awake by the thundering sound. At first he thought it was a thunderstorm, but he quickly changed his mind as he heard townspeople scream and more deafening sounds.
"What was that?!"
"shh!" he went over to the window and saw people running from their houses, smoke coming out of walls and a ship laying docked a bit away from the shore.
"We need to get out of here!" He quickly pulled Lucy up from the matress.
"Thomas? What's happening?!"
He helped her down some stairs that lead to a cellar below the cottage, though he didn't know how long they would be safe there, but he tried not to get Lucy out on the street just yet.

Alex laughed to herself at the navy men that actually attempted to fight back. She cut them down easily-- and anyone else that was even remotely in her way. When she made it to a row of little shack houses, she kicked down the door of the first and looked around for anything of value. She could hear the whimpers from down the hall of most likely children hiding, but she didn't bother. They were hardly audible anyway, not over the screams of the residents of the Port and the booming of Luke's cannons as they hit the fort wall.

Thomas muffled Lucy's whimpering and terrified sobbings by holding his hand over her mouth and holding her close to him as he looked up to the roof of the cellar. "As soon as I say "go", you run as fast as you can out that backdoor over there, okey? I'll be right behind you" he whispered

Alex grinned when she found what she wanted, pocketing a few golden chains, shoving them deep in her pockets. She looked around a bit more, trying to find anymore valuable trinkets.
A man with a dark beard appeared at the door, "Lady."
Alex turned, knowing that the crew called her by lady and no other name.
"Harth's making the sign to come back aboard soons as we got all we needs."
Alex nodded, turning and walking out the door past him, down the steps and towards the next house on the row, "One more 'ouse and we'll be on our way."

In the meantime, Thomas armed himself with the only weapon he had; a small knife. Slowly he lead Lucy to the backdoor but kept his eyes on the cieling.
"Who are they?" Lucy whimpered quietly.
Thomas waited before he answered:"..pirates I'd guess"
