Captain Jack Sparrow stood at the helm of the Black Pearl as it docked in Tortuga. His ship, his domain, his home. His hand lightly caressed the rough wood of the wheel. He glanced up to the raised eyebrow of one of his crew members. Jack cleared his throat and addressed his crew, which, after their latest adventure was looking very slim indeed.
"Replenish the supplies and repair the ship," Jack bellowed to the attentive men ... and woman ... on deck. "And then you can enjoy the .... splendor ... the town has to offer,"
Jack swaggers down the steps as the gangplank is lower.
"Ana, luv," Jack smirks, "I have a special job for you,"

It wasn't easy, being a woman. Arielle Faber knew that just fine and dandy, thank you very much. But no matter, it wasn't for her crew to decide whether or not she was their captain. She didn't care if she was a woman or not. That's just who she was, and she was definitely proud of that. The Argonaut was a gorgeous East Indiaman and she was sure to flaunt it.
"Mister Trent," she turns to her first mate. "I should like you to speak with a Mister Horace Bigby, and see if he can't fix the repairs that that bloody Lieutenant scourged it with." And to think he was formally my suitor. I loved you once, Randall.
"Aye, Captain," says Trent. Arielle smiles as she slowly climbs down - leg injuries don't fare a person that well - from the East Indiaman. Tortuga was where they were, and a new stock of rum was in order.

When they sailed into the harbor she had for once not done anything, let the guys do the work, and just looked at the town. It looked like it had always done - beautiful from a distance, but once you got closer to it, the stench became obvious and it was clear that any other person than a pirate or someone related to pirates would not want to live here.. a true pirate paradise.
"Do tell me.. cap'n" Ana smirked a bit as he walked over to her. She stood against the railing, her hands placed firmly onto it. Her shirt, like the rest of her clothes, surely had seen better days. She had braided her hair and put a bandana on, and yet the wind had managed to loosen some bits to play with it.
When Jack approached she turned around and faced him, hoping she might be able to get off the ship early and go into town. She loved the Pearl but once in a while it was good to step foot onto firm ground.

Jack smirked at her smirk as he stepped closer to her. "As first mate on this ship, luv, that means you have to do the jobs ... that I just don't want to," He flashed her a grin and a wink. "So ... find me some new charming, and intelligent crew members," He said, sarcastically, since they were, after all, in Tortuga. "The Captain of a ship as grand as this one cannot have a crew of..." Jack glances behind him, counting the people on the ship. "...five,"

Ana followed his gaze. Five people was indeed not a lot.. actually way too less to sail on a ship like the Pearl.
"Charming.." Ana repeated with a slight grin. Even though she knew he was being sarcastic, her mind wandered off to the kind of people Jack considered to be charming. She made a face and forced herself not to think about whores with huge breasts.
"Aye.. cap'n." She said, not being able to avoid that the capt'n sounded mockingly. "How many crewmembers does the captain of this grand ship want under his command?"

Jack gazed over his crew once again, as if he was mentally counted the jobs that needed doing on the ship.
"As many as possible," He said eventually. "But at least fifteen ... and, Ana, luv, try not to just bring me drunks and cripples," He smirked a little before walking towards gangplank. He stopped and turned back to his first mate.
"I'll be in the Faithful Bride should you need me, but I'm sure you're be fine with all your feminine charm," He smirked, looking her up and down before heading off the ship.
"Scarlett! Giselle!" He shouted, recognising a pair of women at the end of the dock.

Ana groaned slightly at his comment as she watched him swagger off into the town and obviously being slapped by the ones he called. Too easy, too predictable. She smirked and shook her head.
Before leaving for the town herself Ana looked around the ship. The remaining crewmembers were experienced sailors and she was not sure if she would find people of their standard. There were more than enough people in Tortuga who wanted to become part of a pirate crew, but certainly not all were fit for the Pearl. However, you never knew what this town would bring ya.
"Let's find ourselves a crew then, aye.." Ana mumbled to herself, grabbed her hat and jacket from a pile of ropes and followed her captain down to the docks.

Jack rubbed his cheek as the two whores walked away from him.
"Hmpf," Jack mumbled to himself and headed in the direction of the Tavern.
"Rum," He said simply, as he walked into the tavern and over to the bar and slid a shilling across the counter. He turned around and leant against the bar, watching all the people in the tavern. A feeling of dread started to come over him, the people in this town looked less than worthy to crew his ship, and although he would never admit it, crewing a ship like the Pearl with just five people had been difficult, especially when they had been heavily damaged. He hoped Ana would be able to find at least some strong men in this town that would like to work on his ship.

With her hands in her pockets, Ana stood at the docks not entirely sure where to head first. She contemplated all the different options and eventually decided to start looking in the Faithful Bride, even though Jack went there too. She knew that he would let her do her job but still she thought it might be good at times to work without supervision.
Ana smacked open the doors of the tavern and looked around. These people.. looked.. she hesitated and decided to take a closer look before judging. "Rum." She told the man behind the bar and dropped herself on a chair.

"A girl after me own heart," Jack smirked, without looking around at her. He carried on watching the people in the room while drinking his rum, silently deciding on which whore he would like today.
