(Kay!)
All was not well in Adam's world. He was pissed off, frustrated, and not in the mood for going anywhere with these mental midgets. When they had arrived in New Amsterdam he had expected his 'project' to come to an end. How hard could it be? His associates would be there, they would kill Sparrow, Adam's life would get back to normal. But his associates had not been there, and he had no choice but to stick around and see what would happen next. This was not part of the plan. He hated it.
Nonetheless, he had been talking to a crewmember a while ago, and a little spark of hope was on his horizon. He had heard something about Sparrow's compass. A rumour, you could call it. A myth. A story. But he figured he might as well find out more. All he needed was to get the Sparrow to talk.
He walked up to where Jack was sitting, and sat down on a log himself. His gaze set on the captain. "Captain." he greeted him like he had no care in the world.

Jack turned his nose up, glancing at the newcomer in their conversation. This was precisely why he didn't want Ana waving the map around. "Brahe." Jack responded, his voice a slight growl.

Adam had no interest whatsoever in the map though. He didn't even look at it. He just looked in the direction they had been walking in, before his gaze returned to Jack. "Are you afraid of dying, captain?" He asked, not specifically because he wanted to know, but to get a conversation going.

Jack pursed his lips. Was he really going to admit his fear to the man he least trusted on this ship. "I'm not afraid of anything, mate," He said. "Are you?" Jack leaned forward, eyebrow raised.

Adam shook his head. "Not really. It can't be that bad." He shrugged. "Just wondering though. Since we're chasing after that fountain.."

Jack smirked. "I said I wasn't afraid of dying, I didn't say I wanted to die. While were here, it would seem a shame no to take advance,"

"Guess so." Adam agreed, though he really didn't give a rats ass about it. "But if that's what you want, why don't you just use your compass 'stead of bothering with a map?" He asked casually, getting to the subject that he really wanted to know about.

Jack interest had been peaked, his interest in how this wannabe knew about his compass. Of course, there were stories, but still ... nobody ever believe them. "And what compass would that be, mate?" He raised an eyebrow.
