ooc: so sorry I haven't been responding!

[Barbossa's girl]

it's ok. i understand that you were probably busy with other things.

[Emma]

"I'll make no promises to pirates!" Elizabeth spat back at the girl, "Filthy lot you are!" She remembered back to when she was a little girl how the man who wanted to marry her, James Norrington, described what they needed. "A short drop and sudden stop..." she said out loud without meaning to.

[Lisa]

ooc: Oooh good Elizabeth.. Shes such a bitch.. hehe Just kidding (ok, no I probablly wasn't kidding )

[Emma]

ooc: she is! Have you ever noticed how all through out the movies she gets dirtier and dirtier, but her teeth stay pristine and white?

[Lisa]

ooc: ugh.. I hate her..

[Emma]

ooc: me too

[Barbossa's girl]

"What?" Joanna asked.

It looked like Elizabeth was in a trance remembering something from her past. Joanna thought Elizabeth might've actually felt something for pirates.

"Not all pirates are bad people", Joanna told Elizabeth. "I should know. Captain Barbossa can be mean when you treat him wrong. But he is the nicest man I've ever known. I've known him since I was a young girl."

*flashback*
The Black Pearl had just sailed from Tortuga. It started as a normal day. Barbossa went below deck to get some apples. He heard what sounded like crying. Barbossa looked behind a barrel and saw a little girl. He saw a half-eaten apple in her hands. She was shaking like a leaf.

"Please don't hurt me!" she cried.

Barbossa kneeled down in front of her.

"What are ye doing on this ship?" he asked softly.

The little girl stopped shaking.

"I'm sorry. I was just so hungry", she said. "I saw a barrel full of apples being brought onto the ship. I just had to get some. I didn't expect the ship to sail so soon."

"You have a name, missy?" Barbossa asked.

The little girl nodded.

"Joanna", she said. "Joanna Flames."

"How old are ye Miss Flames?" Barbossa asked.

"12", Joanna answered. "You can call me Joanna."

Barbossa brought Joanna to her feet. He led her into the cabin to Captain Jack Sparrow.

"Cap'n, we appear to have a stowaway", Barbossa said.

Jack turned around and saw Joanna. Jack had been with many girls in his life, but he'd never seen one like her. Raven-black hair flowing down her back. Sparkling emerald-green eyes full of fierceness. Jack knew she would grow up to be a beautiful woman.

"What's this little lady doing on my ship?" he asked.

"Don't call me a lady!" Joanna yelled. "Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I'll grow up to be a prim, proper, sissy lady! I want to be a pirate."

Jack nodded. He let Joanna become part of the crew. He ordered Barbossa to take care of her.
*end flashback*

"I'll bet you're wondering why I didn't fall for somebody like Jack Sparrow", Joanna told Elizabeth. "Between you and me, he's the reason I left some years after joining."

*flashback*
Joanna stood in the crow's nest. She stared at the stars. It has been 7 years since she joined Jack's crew. Her hand wandered to the locket around her neck. Barbossa had given it to her for her 19th birthday. Joanna heard movement behind her.

"Is that you, Hector?" she asked.

Joanna felt arms wrap around her waist and chest. There was a strong smell of rum in the air. It wasn't Barbossa. She turned around and saw jack.

"Jack?! What are you doing?! Let go of me!" Joanna yelled.

Jack tightened his grip on her.

"No can do, love", he said. "I've waited 7 years for this moment to come."

"Let go!" Joanna yelled."You're drunk!"

Jack started tearing at her clothes. He wouldn't stop no matter how loud Joanna screamed. She finally kicked him where the sun didn't shine. Joanna got out of there as fast as she could. She ran below deck and cried. She couldn't believe that Jack Sparrow, the man she happily served since childhood, would try to take advantage of her like that. Barbossa soon found her. He was shocked to see Joanna the way she was. Her skirt was torn. Pieces of her shirt were missing.

"Hector", Joanna cried. "Could you please hold me?"

Barbossa did what she asked. He could see she needed him at the moment. Somebody hurt her.

"What happened, lass?" he asked.

"Sparrow did this to me", Joanna cried.

She told Barbossa about how Jack tried to force himself upon her. She needed to leave. She could no longer be around Jack. Barbossa understood. What Jack did was something that can never be fixed.
*end flashback*

"It would be four years before I set foot back on the Black Pearl. Sparrow was gone when that happened", Joanna finished.

ooc: sorry this post was so long. i just wanted to get joanna's past over and done with. and i know in the movie, jack said he was only captain for 2 years, but it's my story. i changed it to 11 years. barbossa was captain for 10.

ooc: wow
bic: "I know," she admitted, "I'm in love with one." She had her suspicions about Will, which is why she took his place now as Miss Turner. 'Maybe one day I'll be a Turner,' she thought, 'Not miss Turner though, Mrs. Turner.' She knew he was a pirate, no matter how much she didn't want to believe it. Ever since the day she found him out at sea she knew, but she just couldn't accept it. but she had to.

[Barbossa's girl]

Joanna hoped after expressing how much she loved Barbossa, Elizabeth wouldn't do anything that threatened his life. She was wrong.

ooc: we all know what happens between barbossa and elizabeth. basically the same thing happens except joanna's there.

Joanna had Elizabeth locked in the brig. She couldn't trust her.

"How could you do that?"Joanna asked angrily. "I try to be nice to you. I let you know about the captain I love, and you try to kill him anyway? I knew I couldn't trust you."

Joanna went into the cabin, tired from the day's events. She saw Barbossa taking care of the wound Elizabeth just gave him.

"I told you she was no good", Joanna said. "Are you alright?"

Joanna went over to Barbossa to check his wound.
