I look over to it aswell, "Aye, that would be good of you." I nod, and start heading in the direction of the door, "That girl, by the way.. any reason for all this fuss? I'd quite like to know who that man was and what's going on here.."

Jack slipped out of his jacket as he gave a slight grin. "That girl," he began, hanging the garment over the desk chair, "is simply a girl who needed the opportunity to get away from the life she had been living. I just so happened to be there at the opportune moment to offer her that."
His face fell a bit as he continued, and he idly adjusted one of the several belts he wore as his gaze dropped to the floor. "She spilled a bottle of rum on me back in Tortuga, and instead of her buying me another drink I asked for a piece of bread. Her father found out, that I di'n't pay for the piece, and he beat her for it - apparently just like he had her entire life. That's why he was chasing after us. That's why she is part of this crew, even though she probably doesn't know the first thing about sailing."
Finally he looked up, a silent conviction in his eyes. "Savvy?" he asked softly, hoping Cleo would understand his reasoning.

I look at him, silently, for a few monutes, "Well, you are full of suprises." I pause, "You know if you helped out every girl in Tortuga with that problem, you'd sink this ship.. good thing you're not charitable so often."

"Aye. It usually gets me in trouble," he agreed, "but I'm not always as bad as everyone says I am. I'm a good pirate...and a good man. I've got morals. Just don't tell that to anyone," he added with a grimace.

".. Sure." I smirk, "There are a few too many 'good' pirates around here for my liking.. I never knew that bein' a good man helped you storm ports and pillage from others."

Jack shrugged, giving a dismissive wave of his hand. "Don't believe me then, darlin', doesn't make any difference to me. You can just join the long line of people who think the same. It's all part of being a pirate. I do what I do but compared to some, I'm a saint. An' I can't speak for those others who go under the flag of bein' a good pirate, savvy? I jus' keep watch over meself. Most of the time."

"Alright, luvvy." I tell him, "I suppose you're just good in another sort of.. context.. Shall we get to that cabin of mine?"

Jack's eyes narrowed as he stepped towards the door, turning to look her way. "What are ya talkin' about?" he wondered, though he had a pretty good idea of what she had been implying. As he had said, she could think whatever she wanted.

"... I'm talking about you showing me that cabin you promised, what do you think?" I tell him, not quite understanding his sudden fustration, "Or do you mean you don't understand my confusion with the fact you're a good man, and yet have the proffession of a criminal.. not to offend, it shouldn't offend. Afterall, you're a pirate.. and I just meant, you can call yourself a good man in comparison to other pirates.. but.. not in general. None of us are that moralistic around here. Excluding that little wench, we've all killed, stolen and lied a fair bit.."

Jack opened the door and waved Cleo on, speaking to her as they continued their way to the passenger cabins. "Aye, we have, an' I happily have no regrets about doin' anything of the sort. I was just talkin' 'bout the 'other context'." He made a face. "That's where you had me confused, love. I thought you were talking about something else entirely, an' seein' as I've done nothing but confuse us both thoroughly on the matter, an' without the help of a large quantity of rum even, I will just stop talking and finish leading you to your cabin."
