The guard growled and fired a shot at Logan's kneecap. "I am not messing about." He growled.
At the sound of the gunshot, Lucy shrieked, "Daddy!" breaking free from Mystique's grip and running for the door. Mystique scrambled to her feet, running after Lucy, and scooping her up into her arms just as she flung the door to the study up. Lucy shrieked and kicked her arms and legs about, trying to escape from her mother's grip and attack the security guard like a rabid dog.

At the same time that the door smacked open, Logan smacked the security guard's head against the wall, two claws shooting out on either side of the man's neck. Blood was running from Logan's knee, soaking the suit's leg, and pooling on the carpet. A dangerous growl was on his lips, while the middle claw started to inch out of his skin towards the guys throat.
Behind Mystique and Lucy, the rest of the X-Men started forward as well, alarmed for different reasons. "Logan!" Hank McCoy sounded, knowing full well that if Wolverine winded up killing one of the guards, all of them would be prosecuted over what happened there tonight.

The two guards backing up the main guy had their guns aimed on Logan, shouting at him to stand down, while Hank and Scott shouted at him as well. Lucy, watching her daddy bleed and everyone shouting at each other, let out a deafening shriek. The main guard stared at Logan with wide eyes, once everyone else had gone silent due to Lucy's scream, he cleared his throat and whispered, "That's all the questions we need answering right now. You're free to go."

Logan retracted his claws with a grunt. The guard sank to the floor when he wasn't pinned to the wall anymore. Logan turned around and limped out of the room, not giving any of the disapproving faces as much as a second of acknowledgement. He only stopped by Mystique and Lucy, where he lifted Lucy in his arms.

Mystique put her hand on his elbow as they walked through the main hall, security moving out of the way to let them through. "You okay, baby?" She checked. The X-Men followed behind, reluctantly, heading back to the Jet.
As soon as they left the study, the head of security reached for the phone. "Get me S.H.I.E.L.D"

"Fine," Logan replied. That knee was already healin'. It was the least of their concerns. Xavier was missin', and Logan had long noticed there wasn't even a trail of scent to follow. It was like they disappeared in thin air.
When they got to the jet, Logan sank into one of the seats, Lucy crawling onto his lap, her eyes still filled with tears and worry.

Mystique sat down next to him, fingers lightly stroking Lucy's hair, brushing it out of her face. "So, what are we going to do?" She asked whenever everyone was seated and the Jet took off. "We need to find Xavier, whatever the hell's happened to him,"

"I agree," Hank said, from his seat in the front of the jet. "But we must cooperate with the police, the White House security, S.H.I.E.L.D.. Or who ever the government choses to sort this out," He threw a glance at Logan when he mentioned 'white house security'. Logan flicked him the finger.
"If they let us," Jean added to what Hank said. "We should contact them first thing in the morning. Offer our help," She suggested.

"Bullshit," Mystique said. "You really think they're going to want our help? We find them ourselves, send the President home and it's all over. Sitting around waiting for them to tell us when to jump and how high won't achieve anything,"

"If we don't cooperate now, our actions will have the same effect as pleading guilty." Jean said. She wasn't pleased about this, of course she wanted to find Xavier as soon as possible. But she realized that if they went about it the wrong way, they'd end up shattering the dreams Xavier had worked for all his life. Now, more than ever, they had to think twice about their next step. Jean looked around the jet, at the other X-Men, the tired faces and the worry and tension that was thick in the air. "We contact them tomorrow," She stated again. "We'll decide what do after that phonecall."
