"Yes," agreed Jeannette.
"Because I have enough to last me a lifetime. And because I'm having this weird feeling called 'pity,'" said Jack.

Lola raised an eyebrow at that, she wasn't so sure she liked being pitied but before she could, perhaps foolishly, comment on it-
Joey knocked on the door, afraid to rush right in despite the gravity of the situation because he thought he might walk in on something.
"Captain, a storm is brewing," he announced.

"Quite literally, I might add," said Jeannette.
"You didn't start this storm, did you?"
"What are you talking about?"

"Why would she want to harm the ship that she is on?" Lola asked, stepping outside to have a look. Dark clouds were building up on the farthest horizon, but that was less worrisome to her than the building winds and the hard waves. A little rain she actually enjoyed but being beaten around in a sea so full of reefs didn't sound as fun.
"It is looking bad," she announced. She held onto the rail and leaned over, looking at the rope that gauged the water level.
Joey started to ready everything for the storm, tightening and loosening lines as necessary, and tossing some items that weren't tied down below decks.

"Perfect, just what I need," said Jack.

"What is your plan?" Lola asked Jack, her eyes following Joey who was on auto-drive preparing for the storm.

"We brace." Jack hollered out instructions, then ushered Lola and Joey out. "One moment with Jeannette, please." He shut the door. "I don't know what's going on, but do something - anything - to keep this from getting out of hand."
"I may be powerful but I cannot intervene with fate," said Jeannette. "This storm is your destiny, as much as I don't wish to be a part of it." Jeannette paused. "I'll do my best."
"Dammit!" Jack gave her one thunderous look and burst out of his cabin in order to grab ahold of the helm.

Lola raced down the stairs to the crew quarters, she dropped her bag on her hammock and put on her coat while screaming for everyone to wake up, "Storm, storm, all hands on deck."
She watched as the grubby men jumped out of their hammocks, rubbed their sore eyes and ran up the stairs.
She dropped her sword and ran up as well.
Joey was on deck, helping prepare the ship, and helping Ana with the helm when the waves grew harder, until Jack relieved them both.
Lola climbed up the mast and started to untie what she could, drawing the sails closed so they could ride the storm out. Then she dropped to the deck and looked to Jack for more orders.

But before Jack could give further instruction, the entire ship swerved to the right. Belowdecks, Markus was thrown forward; the impact of the sharp edge of an exposed bar on the brig door cut through his shackles. He looked up, grinning - he was free. He reached into his pants and found the drugs, quickly caught Anna in a headlock, and before she could react or scream, held it to her nose and mouth until she passed out. "All right... now where're those bloody boats?" He looked around sharply; there had to have been some way out without the others noticing. Of course, it wouldn't take him much to stop them but it would take him a longer time, and with the storm, it would ruin his chances of getting away.

Joey busied himself with the ropes realizing the ship was really going to have to take it on the chin through this one.
The sudden swerve caught Lola off guard, she fell flat on her face and started sliding. She caught herself and hung, her legs just under the rails. "A little help," she yelled, struggling to pull herself back up.
