Jack jumped back across the bar and ran a hand over his sweaty face, and through his damp hair. His cheeks were flushed red from the physical activity. Immediately, the attitude towards him from the customers had changed. They were no longer ignoring him, already he wasn't 'the new kid' anymore, they were laughing and joking with him as if he was one of them. Jack liked it. He had a silly grin plastered across his face as he poured them drinks.

While working Ana looked at Jack once in a while and smiled when she saw that he was enjoying himself much more than he was before. She continued working, while the tavern turned (like every night) into a mess.
Many hours later the last people who were awake left the tavern. Ana sat down on the bar, her legs hanging down.

Jack made his way around the tavern once everyone had left, picking up the glasses and putting them down on the bar to be cleaned. He took the towel off his shoulder occasionally to wipe down a table.
"Is it like that every night?" He asked Ana, showing no signs of slowing down with the work.

"Naw.." Ana grinned broadly. "Tonight was.. mild." She said as she watched him walk around the tavern. She hopped off the bar and walked behind it once more, taking the money they had made tonight and started to count it.

"Oh good," Jack grinned. "I was hoping for more of a challenge," He took a few more glasses over to the bar and leaned against if, taking a moment's break before he attempted to actually clean the glasses.
"You know, I was wondering, where do you ... live?" He asked.

Ana did not look up and continued to count the money, taking therefore a moment to reply. "Eh.. in town." She waved into the direction of the center of tortuga

Jack nodded. "Right." He scratched the back of his head. "Because I was just thinking ... I have no where to stay - not that I'm suggesting that I want to live with you or anything," He added quickly before she could think otherwise. "I was just going to ask you if you know anywhere I can stay when I have no money," He let out a short laugh, knowing how ridiculous it sounded.

"On the streets." Ana said seriously. After a moment she looked up at him and grinned "I might let you stay at my place.. but then you owe me like.. double, seeing I already got you this job.."

"You did not get me this job," Jack rolled his eyes. "You just ... pointed at the bartender,"

Ana shrugged.. and still grinned. "You wanna sleep on the streets?" She smirked teasingly.
