Melchior frowned at her slightly, not knowing what to say because he wasn't aware of this, "We'll know what to do when the occassion arises, miss." He muttered, placing a hand on the wheel.
Penny, without too much of a struggle, got her head free of the bars. She was bright red now, and angry more than scared. "That woman is a witch." She looked beside to Jack, and then to the sailor that was standing with them.. "You saw that, didn't you?!"

The sailor frowned 'I saw you messing around in the brig, and I suggest you stop doing that before the captain throws you off the ship. Now keep it down or there'll be no supper for the both of ya'
'Good, good, just thought it my civic duty to tell you' she turned to him 'how long before we get there ?'

Jack smirked. The sailor was an idiot. Any good sailor would stop and ask what was going on, and as a good Captain, Jack would inform them that the mythical creatures of their deepest darkest nightmares were coming to get him. But of course, that wouldn't be likely happening.
"'Course I saw it, luv." Jack observed Penny's neck. It was red and raw - worse than the marks the cuffs left on her wrists and ankles. "That... you, ah. You have something on your neck."

As the sailor left them she turned and scowled at Jack, "Well that's not suprising, now, is it? If you're Captain of anything than its of the Obvious."
Melchior looked back to the horizon, awkwardly, "Quite a while, you do realise we're still on the Thames."

Jack rolled his eyes and sat down. "Women." He wondered how soon it was until Melchior and their group would need him - at least then he would be let out of the brig. Until then, he was stuck with in-a-bad-mood Penny.

Penny put her hands to the red marks on her neck, and as she did she finally noticed the mark on her hand. She paused for a moment, staring at it.. "What the bloody hell is that?!"

Jack stared, then looked at the mark on his own hand. He scowled. "It'd better not be 'The Black Spot.'" When they got out of this cell...

"What?" She frowned at him, because it was obvious to her that it was a spot, and that if was black.. "If yer talkin' about that sort of black spot, I think you're forgetting what sort of ship we're on... Christ, it sort of hurts." She glared at the mark, trying to wish it away, "That stupid witch of a woman did it."

"Well, unless we can get out of this filthy brig, Penny dearest, I'm afraid there isn't much I can do," said Jack sharply. The mark on his hand was starting to hurt too, and rubbing it only made it worse. "We 'ave to strike another bargain - a deal, if you will - to get us out of this cell. Or we could resort to mayhem and mischievous shenanigans in the hope that we'll cause enough of a ruckus to get us out of here." He cleared his throat. "I need me rum."

"Well you're not getting any in here." She reminded him, "So there's that plan out of the way." Her dirty blonde hair fell into her face as she continued to look at the mark, soon enough she swept it back behind her ears, and looked at him once more, "We need to tell someone. We need to tell that pansy of a captain about her." She decided.. "These marks won't kill us, she wouldn't go that far. She wanted us here.. at least, she wanted you here. There's something strange going on.. but I don't think we should be irrational." She sat down beside him, "That would be a term you wouldn't understand, luv. Rationality is reserved for only the intelligent."
