'Europe,' she replied. 'Last my mum called me, they were in Rome for a filming of my step-father's talk show. It's very common, no wonder I seem like I'm so much older.'
She didn't care at this point...it had been a long time since she cared about what her parents did or if they were around. She was left to take care of herself. She didn't drive and particularly didn't need to since she liked to walk everywhere on a nice day. When it rained, the maid gave her a lift, but she was thinking about getting a car for when she needed to go somewhere and it was too far to walk.

"Didnt feel like going with them?" Tom asked. "Rome seems like a great place, better than skipping classes and sitting in your kitchen with someone you just met," He laughed a little.

'I can't,' Emma said. 'Joshua won't let me...he claims I should be in school...that and I think my mum hates when I'm around. Why? Do you think I should have gone to Rome and been more disgusted and bored there?'

Tom shrugged. "It's up to you what you do, I just thought it'd be more interesting than here," That and you'd be out of the way when your ex boyfriend comes to town. "But I suppose it's none of my business what you do," Tom finished off the last of his coke and stood up, putting the empty bottle in the bin.

Emma rolled her eyes and stood up, causing Choco to give a whine and look at her sadly. 'Whatever you say,' she stated. 'I have enough people nosing into my life...so it doesn't matter anymore. You obviously do care, because if you hadn't you wouldn't have said anything in the first place. What is to you...and be honest.'

"I like you," Tom shrugged. "You're the only person to speak to me in this whole school. You seem bored and depressed..." He shrugged again, as if it was no big deal. "I was just trying to help,"

She gave him a look as if telling him that he had to be kidding. 'I am bored, but not depressed. I may not be happy as a model or with my parents, but I'm not depressed. Believe me, if I happened to be depressed, you would have known.'

"Thanks for the warning," Tom muttered. "But you're still hardly a bundle of laughs," He rolled his eyes. "You need to get out more, have some fun, stop worrying about being a 'model' and just enjoy yourself,"

She knew the last time she tried having fun it lead to the situation she was in with her ex, but she may as well try...even as guarded as she was. 'Well then, why don't you take me to have some fun?' she asked. 'It would only make sense seeing as you are the one telling me that I need to have fun.'

"Ok, great," Tom smiled, finally he was getting somewhere with her. This case wouldn't go anywhere unless she let him in a little, he needed to find out about the ex boyfriend if he was ever going to help her, but how closed off she was now, it wouldnt do him any good to even try yet. "Ever been bowling?" He asked.
