Mystique smirked a little - that comment made her feel better already, although she'd never tell Logan that.
"Some things never change, Wolvie," She teased a little.
There was a quiet cough from behind. A tall, lanky young boy stood in the doorway to the school. He brushed his floppy light brown hair out of his face and glanced back at the sign next to the door. 'Xaviers School for Gifted Youngesters'. He glanced back at the two standing in the coridoor, a ... big ... man and a woman. 'Youngsters indeed' he thought to himself.
"Excuse me," Alfie said quietly. "Is this ... the place for ... special ... people?" He asked nervously. He was unsure whether he was doing the right thing here, but he'd ran away from his English boarding school and hitchhiked across the country to get here ... he wasn't going to bolt at the door.

Wolverine had frowned at Mystique's comment, looking dangerously agitated by her already. The interuption by the boy managed to divert his attention from her for a moment though. The frown was still on his face as the boy started talking - and Logan wondered what the hell this kid wanted. It took him a second to remember that his place was a school, and he was supposed to welcome these kids rather than stare them down.
"...Special people." He mumbled, glancing at Mystique out of the corner of his eye. "I'm starting to think so." His gaze went back to the kid again, lingering a while longer this time. "You're in the right place."

Alfie let out a slight sigh of relief and smiled nervously. This man was intimidating to say the least. He wondered what his purpose here was, janitor? teacher? ... head teacher? Or whatever it was they called them in this country. He hoped he was the Janitor.
He stepped briskly across the room and extended his hand to Logan. "I'm Alfie ... Alfie Beau ..." He introduced himself. "... Liche," He mumbled quietly. That was his self appointed nickname. He'd always wanted a nickname but he'd never had enough friends to have one naturally.
Mystique watched on silently. Slightly annoyed by the interupption, she didn't have time to waste. She raised an eyebrow glancing from Logan to the Alfie kid.

The kid seemed nervous as hell. Logan could smell the fear on him. Most of the new kids came in like that. At the end of their hope, rejected, discriminated against. That's why Xavier's school had been a safe haven for mutants for a long time. After the professor's death, Storm had decided to keep things that way. This was just another wandering soul, finding a place where he could be remotely normal.
Good for him, probably. He looked like he wouldn't last in the real world for longer than a few more weeks.
Logan took the extended hand and shook it briefly, "Logan." He raised an eyebrow, using the same convention as the boy, to add his 'mutant name'. "Wolverine. I'll bring you to Storm, she's the one you want to talk to around here."
In the meanwhile he hadn't forgotten one second about Mystique's presence. He looked over to her, fixing his gaze on her. "You're coming with us." He told her shortly. He wouldn't allow her out of his sight until he knew exactly what was going on. Without another word, but sure that they followed, Logan started to lead the way.

I let Jack go. "So what's all this?" I point at her purse. "Is this all you have?"
"Unfortunately, where I was they didn't allow me much," I said, grimacing. "It was like a..." I look at the other girl. She seems young.
"Oh, Rogue, honey, sorry, can we talk another time about.... you know," I said with a wink. Rogue was having issues with not having a power. We were talking about some way to give her a new one. She shrugged. "Sure," she said. "Oh, and - Jack, are you staying here, you know, for good?"
I hadn't thought about it yet. But I suppose that was why I was here. "Yeah," I said. "For as long as I can. I don't know if it'll be forever," I added, because with my regenerative-ness, I wasn't sure how long I'd been alive in the first place. "But I know I'll be here."
I thought for a second. There weren't that many open rooms. I didn't have time to consult charts, either. "Rogue, can she stay with you?" Rogue backed up a bit. "Um... yeah, sure, I guess," she said. I could tell that she didn't trust Jack yet. Of course not, she didn't know her that well.
"Thanks," I say, as she goes up the stairs. She shrugs. And now she's gone. "...Rogue..." When I'm sure Storm and I are alone (for however short a period of time that may be), I turn to her. "There's a lot that's happened these seven years, and a lot of blank missing spaces. You know how good I am with memory," I add.
"Yeah, I do," I say. Her memory is usually flawless. "So what happened, then?"
"Well, all I know is that I was with Scott one second, and then back in my room, and then out of here. And I don't even remember how. Then I remember long periods of time where I was in some sort of... I dunno, mutant concentration camp?"
I have a bad feeling about this. It reminds me of a certain... Stryker. "Do you know who led it?"
"I dunno of any Hitlers amongst the mutants," I say. "This guy seemed pretty human. I saw his face a lot, but I don't know who he is. And there was a mutant helping him. Or two or three. They were all under his control with the help of some... I dunno... chemical compound. But this one guy, he was doing it out of pure will."
I was dumbfounded. A mutant betraying other mutants? "Who? Tell me, Jack, please remember. Is he still a threat?
"His name was Victor, that's all I know. And he's still out there, so my best bet is that he'll be coming here. I'm sorry if I put everyone in danger," I said. "But I doubt I'm the only one he's looking for. He mentioned a search for a mutant brother of his. If that means anything."
"It doesn't," I say. We hear a commotion coming down the hall. "I think we ought to end this for now. I think Logan's coming here."
"Logan?" I ask. I have no idea who that is. "Hey, where's Scott? Jean? Xavier? I haven't seen them in such a long time. You know, we should all get together for dinner. For old time's sake."
I look at Jack with a painful expression. She has no idea that her ex-boyfriend, her best friend, and her father-figure aren't going to be here ever again. "I don't think we can do that any time soon."

Gambit stood at the gates of Xavier Academy, he'd never been here before, but after the ah...whole banishing thing in New Orleans, he'd decided on coming here, it seemed like a good bet, he also knew this was where to find Logan. He pushed the gate open, sauntering down the drive, usually he'd chose to do this more stealth-like, and could have easily by-passed the security, but it was broad daylight, seemed pretty stupid. He looked at the kids running around on the green, they seemed to feel so safe here. Remy made his way to the front doors, he pushed on them, surprised to find them open, he let himself into the main hall, looking around,he took his sunglasses off ,revealing his red-black eyes. He looked far beyond someone who belonged in a school, he wore his auburn hair in a ponytail, a red bandana around his forehead, keeping his bangs out, a pair of torn up jeans clung to his legs, and a white tanktop hung on his body under a red collared shirt, the epitamy of a Bayou boy. He saw two women deep in conversation, he approached them, "Pardon, chere," he said charmingly, "But I seem t'be a bit turned around, I'm lookin' for someone..." he smiled, attempting to use his 'cajun charm' on the one he spoke to. ooc:meh, sucky intro get better though ^_^

I smirked. I'd seen this guy before, somewhere, but I didn't know where. "Hello there..." I almost decided to speak but winked instead and turned back to see a big, handsome, and very muscular guy walk in along with a thin, lanky kid, a blonde woman, and several others including a tin man. "What the..." That big burly guy had to be Logan.
"What's going on? Who's -" I look. "Mystique." I scowl at her.
I turned back to the new guy. "Who are you?" I ask him.

(Yes! Same time! Finally someone's online; btw actually the character's Brunette not blonde XD)
"Who, this guy?" I point at the man I think is Logan. "Be my guest. But what are you doing here?" I raise my eyebrows. The-man-who-may-or-may-not-be-Logan narrows his eyes at *me* as if to say who are *you* and what are *you* doing here?

Gambit raised an eyebrow, "I ain' one t'expose my means of bein' here, chere" he said, he really wanted to talk to Logan privately, and maybe this Professor X man, he may be able to help him.
