Alfie stared at the canteen, eyes wide, completely overwhelmed. There was mutant everywhere, making use of their powers like they were so used to them.
"Hi," Alfie mumbled at Bobby, and turned away. Like he said to Storm, he didn't socialise well. He picked up a tray of food and sat at a table next to where the others were talking.
Mystique twisted her fingers in her hair. One body was so boring, she was fed up with having a human body.
"Don't have a panic attack, Logan-baby," Mystique smirked. "This human body gets hungry quickly. I'll just be over there if you miss me," She winked and walked across to the food counter.

I shrug. "Storm," I say to her. "You know what I told you earlier, right?"
"Yeah, about Stryker?" I see her eyes flash. Whoops. I let out something else. "We can trust Logan," I add. I pat his shoulder with a smile. He's lost so much. "He can know."
"Can he?" I look at him through the corner of my eye.
"Look, the seven years that you haven't been here, he's been here. He's been with us when we lost Scott and-" I stop. I forgot she doesn't know.
I raise my eyebrow. "We lost Scott and...? No one died, did they?"
I look at Wolverine as if to say "Don't tell her anything." He nods. "We'll talk about that later. No problems right now, I wouldn't worry about it. So you were saying?"
I think about Scott and the others I haven't yet seen for less than a second, then go back to what I was saying. "Basically there's several factions forming. Whoever was left in the Brotherhood, working for Magneto, they've been rejects, outcasts since the incident. Yes, I know about it, I heard about it at... at the concentration camp. I think. And the mutants there, many of them were from the Brotherhood. They talked about teaming up with certain 'new mutants' - super mutants. And apparently these super mutants are rising up and are going to get rid of... all of us. "Not to mention the problem regarding the many psycho humans out there who have started seeking out Mutants to help them. They're all in factions. All of them. And they hate us, because we're standing for the right thing, you know, some equality between everyone. They don't want equality. They want their own selves to be ruling and everyone else to be below them." I stopped and took a drink of water. "And I managed to escape, but I think they're joining together to take us out. There's not that much time."
I looked over Jack's shoulder to see Bobby calling for Liche. "Hey, wait! Hey," said Bobby. "Come sit with us." He pointed at the table where he and Kitty and Rogue were sitting. I smiled at him. Bobby was a good kid.

Gambit didn't like being ignored, he'd went to explain himself and gotten ignored. He narrowed his eyes, "HEY I WAS TALKIN' HERE!" he yelled, still not getting the response he wanted. He followed them, the girl seemed to have the same problems he was having, and seemed to want the same thing, help for it. He followed them into the cafeteria, tired of walking and ready to pounce on the next person who attempted to interrupt him, "Dis is all good an' well, but I ain't had my peace yet, mon dieu" he said, "And from the sound of it, me an' de chere dere have the same issues...mutants are dissappearin' in N'Awlins, Logan, I 'as wonderin' if you could get me a word in wit dat Professor friend of yours.."

I turned back to Gambit. "Or you could just talk to us. I'm one of the X-Men. We could help you." I didn't care what Logan had to say about if I was "in" or "not," because Storm agreed with me.
"I'm the new head here," I said sadly. "She's with us." I just confirmed it.
I looked at her, confused. Again the mysteries. "Okay, what's going on? Where's Scott, where's Jean? Where's Xavier?" I then also wanted to know why Gambit suddenly showed up here. "And who are you, and how did you know about this place?" Too many questions. I chugged down my coke. Ahh that felt better.

Gambit shook his head, he didn't like this woman, "Why so paranoid? Why you downin' dat coke like dat chere? Why'd you do dis?" he mimicked her, laughing, "Most mutants know about Xavier mon ami, it don' take someone like me long to find dis place"An' just in case you weren't listenin' before, which you apparently weren't chere, I am Remy LeBeau, or Gambit. I come from New Orleans."

"Yes, yes, I know all that. I mean..." who are you as a mutant? Where did your story start? But I didn't ask.
I decided I had no alternative but to tell the truth. "Xavier is dead," I said quietly. "And Jack, here, is quite skilled. I assure you, you will be careful not to anger her."
I shrug at that last part, but wheel back to the first. Xavier's dead? No wonder I felt a little more than unsafe. "Sorry, Gambit. Just a bit paranoid because Xavier isn't here anymore. I suppose you can forgive me and I'll leave you alone." I wink and then look back at Storm, a little coldly.

" I ain' worried about her.." Gambit said, he picked up a toothpick from the table, and charged it, throwing it into the air, setting off on a tiny explosion, he lounged, then started when Storm said he was dead, "Well,I'm a bit late, hn?" he said, he'd hoped to find out how to find the missing people in New Orleans, but with Xavier gone he didn't know what to do now.

A kid threw a plastic fork in the air; I froze it and set it on fire so Gambit would know the minimal amount of my powers. Then with a flick of my hand the fire turned to water and there was no fork left. The kid shrugged and turned around. And then I thought out loud: "Well, the place is still open. That means that there's hope left. And that means we can do the same thing, can't we?"
"Professor X always told us to do our best in any situation," I agreed. "It might be the best thing to just take care of the problem ourselves."
"Right," I nod. "It'd make him proud." I look at Gambit. "Remy LeBeau... you're all right with us helping you out with this, right? We're all going for the same thing, after all."

"Is fine with me chere, and please, just Remy," Gambit said, "Gambit don't need all dat formality" he referred to himself in third person alot, he never knew why, it just slipped out at times, along with the thick Cajun accent he sported. He'd usually been one to work alone, but the odds told him to take them up on their offer, alot of times a full house was better than one ace of spades.
ooc: sorry, had to do the third person thing.lol couldn't resist

I smiled at him. "Well then, Remy. That seems just fine. The problem is..." I turn to Storm and Logan.
"Where do we start?" I ask. I look at 'Remy LeBeau' and speak to him. "Gambit, what do you know? Problems rising in New Orleans, then?" Maybe we'd start there and move up.
ooc: XD I love it haha you're awesome
