Logan grunted in disagreement, pretty urged to wait and see whether Aurora would learn to walk over to their room herself if he just didn't pick her up. A minute later it sure didn't look like it though, so he got out of the bed with a grunt and stumbled across the hallway to collect their baby girl.
When he reached her room, her crying was loud enough to make his head pound painfully. "Shh, 'Rora." He told her in a mumble when he carefully picked her up. Trying to hush her on the way, he brought her over to the bedroom where he handed her over to Mystique. He then quickly escaped the noise in the bedroom by heading into the bathroom for a shower.

Mystique grunted when he just ditched her and ran. She didn't enjoy being the only one of the two of them capable of feeding their daughter. She pushed herself into a sitting position to let their baby have her breakfast. She leaned back into the pillows and closed her eyes now that Aurora was quiet.

Logan returned from the shower a few minutes later, his head still pounding but at least he was more awake again. He threw on a pair of jeans and a shirt and checked the clock to see they were in a hurry again. He briefly leaned over Mystique to brush a quick kiss on her lips, then leaned over to give Aurora a kiss on her head, "I'll go wake Luce," He said, since at least that kid understood it if he told her to stop squealing.

"Okay," Mystique mumbled, their voices going right through her head. Once Aurora had finished breakfast, Mystique repeated the procedure of wedging the baby between two pillows while she showered and dressed, then took her downstairs so Mystique could have her breakfast.
Hank the lab assistant came in whistling to get his breakfast while Mystique and Aurora sat at the counter. Mystique let out a low warning growl to stop the damn annoying noise. "Hangover?" He smirked at her.
"Mindyourownfuckingbusiness-over," Mystique grunted, drinking her extra strong cup of coffee.

A few minutes later, Logan walked into the kitchen with Lucy, who was not squealing for a change. Her daddy's warning not to split his brain in two with sonic vibrations had sounded very serious. Lucy bounced over to Mystique for a hug, while Logan pulled open the fridge to find anything edible in there.

Mystique gave Lucy the hug she asked for and stood up. She walked across to Logan, handing him Aurora. She gave him a kiss, then Aurora a kiss. "See you at one?" She asked, passing Lucy something to snack on for breakfast.

"I'll try," Logan told her, giving her a brief kiss before she had to go, and he went looking for Rogue so he might make it to work on time as well.

Mystique reached work only a few minutes later. She sat down at her desk and was immediately summoned to Magento's office. She reluctantly got to her feet and knocked on his office door, cringing as the sound went right through her head.
"Come in," A voice called from inside. "Ah Raven," Magento said when she entered. "Have you thought about my offer?" He got straight down to business, not even offering her a seat.
"I have, and I have to politely decline, I barely see my children as it is, and Logan - my boyfriend," She added, incase he'd forgotten. "Has found a ... hobby that'll make us a little more income,"
"I see, well, I was hoping by accepting this job offer you'd show me your commitment and dedication to the company, but obviously not. So, I'm afraid, you're fire, active immediately."
"No! Why?" Mystique said, hangover temporarily forgotten. Her chest clenched painfully, panicking straight away about how they were going to live.
"You've been late to work one too many times, and you're distracted and let unauthorised personnel enter the building. Please gather your things and leave the premises before I have to call the police,"
A short while later, at the construction site, Logan's superior stepped out of the trailer. "Oi! Sapien!" He shouted in Logan's direction. "Your misses is here to see you! This'll be docked from your pay!" He warned, before walking back inside the trailer, where Mystique was sitting on a small sofa, tear stained with make up running down her cheeks.

Logan dropped his work, climbing off the scaffolding to find out what was going on. It wasn't even close to one in the afternoon so it couldn't be Mystique's lunchbreak already. Logan crossed the construction site. He took off his safety helmet and whiped the sweat of his brow as he walked into the trailer.
When he entered and found her crying on the sofa, he dropped the helmet and quickly made his way over to her. He crouched in front of her, his face full off concern as he cupped her face with his grime-covered hand. "Baby, what's up? What happened?" He immediately asked.

Mystique met his gaze, a little nervous what his reaction would be. "He fired me," She mumbled. "Because I didn't take the extra hours. Because I wouldn't spend my evening cleaning his fucking toilet," She growled, before she threw her arms around his neck.
