"We'll find a way," Mystique said simply, not giving in either. For a few hours, she'd really thought she'd lost him. She wasn't going to put him at risk unnecessarily. "I'll find a way, you are not leaving this bed,"

"We'll see 'bout that," Logan grunted, not at all amused by her attempt to declare him grounded.

Mystique raised an eyebrow at him, "If you go against me Logan, you'll live to regret it. I promise you that. You do not know what I went through these past few hours. I watched your comatose body splat onto the pavement. I held your hand while you were dying and bleeding, waiting for somebody to come and help me. I had to listen while Jean told me you'd either wake up or die right there in my lap. I held your daughter while she cried over you, seeing how terrible her daddy looked. I cannot see you get hurt again,"

Logan growled, because goddammit, he couldn't go against Mystique now no matter how much he disagreed. He grabbed her hand and pulled her against him on the side where it hurted least, keeping her close for the first time since she went through all that. "Well, I ain't dying, babe." He told her, looking into her eyes.

"You should be dead," Mystique mumbled, trying to put as little weight on his body as possible but he held her tight. "We'll sort out the money some other way, I'll beg him for my job back if I have to," She said, even though she knew Logan wouldn't approve of that suggestion. She didn't like it either but she didn't see another option. "If you fight and Jean missed something, if you do have a fractured skull and she missed it, and somebody gives you a blow to the head, it's over Logan, whatever saved you from that fall might not be there to save you next time,"

"You ain't going back there." Logan told her. It was his turn to put his foot down. "I got chucked outta a window, babe, there ain't no knowing you wouldn't be next. You stay clear of that place. We'll work it out some other way."

"Alright," Mystique gave in, thinking he'd be more willing to listen to her if she listened to him. "We'll work it out ... another time. For now, just relax, baby. Focus on getting better so you can go to work on Monday," She smirked a little and stole a kiss from his lips.

Logan still wasn't pleased with the result, but he wouldn't argue now that she gave in to his demand. With a slight grunt, he sank back into the pillows, keeping her close against him. The fact that it hurt didn't mean he didn't want 'r as close as he could have her. She had a way of puttin' things in perspective, and hell, he'd nearly died today.
They both became silent again for a while, Logan trying to relax like she told him to. Something bugged him though. Now that his mind was slightly more clear than last evening, he kept replaying what he remembered of the day before. And something was off. Absent-mindedly, Logan moved a hand down Mystique's back, "Yknow what was weird?" He mumbled, breaking the silence. He glanced down at her to meet her gaze, "When I went up there, I tried to punch Magneto. But he stopped my fist somehow. Then next thing I know, I'm flyin' outta the window, but the guy never budged from his seat."

"He's a mutant, baby," Mystique mumbled, already drifting asleep against his chest. "They're freaks, they do freaky things," She dismissed his statement easily.

Logan kept his gaze on Mystique a while longer, watching her slowly drift asleep. His attempt to focuss his gaze made him dizzy though, so after a few seconds he looked to the ceiling instead. "Guess so," He mumbled, letting it slip so she could get some rest. Still, it stayed on his mind. Freaks or not, there was supposed to be a limit to what mutants could do. Then again, what did he know 'bout it? Trying to brush it off like she did, Logan closed his eyes in an attempt to get some more rest.
