Mystique only woke in the morning when the alarm went off. But it was Saturday and they had nowhere to be, but in all the drama they'd forgotten to turn the alarm off. Mystique groaned and slammed a hand down on the clock to shut it up. She cuddled up to Logan again, temporarily forgetting his wounds, trying to get five more minutes before Aurora would wake.

The alarm didn't stir Logan from his sleep, but when Mystique cuddled up close to him, he woke when she brushed against one of the bandages. His eyes shot open and he inhaled a sharp breath. Instantly, he tried to ignore the pain. It wasn't easy though. He felt sore all over, his muscles aching, most of his skin bruised and scratched. He forced himself to pull it together though. It wasn't like he could expect anything else after making a drop to almost certain death. Hell, he was long glad that he wasn't immediately puking again.
He glanced down to Mystique to register that she was awake. "Hey," He told her, his voice hoarse.

"Hey," Mystique mumbled with a slight smile, but then the sound of his voice reminded her of the pain he was in and quickly pulled away and sat up. "Sorry," She leaned over him, careful not to touch his body and brushed a light kiss on his lips.
That moment, Aurora's cried filled the bedroom. Mystique groaned and swung her legs out of bed.
"Don't worry, I got it!" Marie's voice came through the baby monitor.
"Thanks Marie," Mystique spoke into the monitor their end, using it as a walkie talkie. "Can you send Luce in when she's awake?"
"Sure, how he is?"
"Conscious, a little brain damaged ... but he's gonna be fine," Mystique gave him a smirk, then rolled her eyes when there was an uncomfortable silence on the other end. "He's not really brain damaged, Marie, it was a joke,"

Logan smirked, reaching an arm around Mystique to pull her back into his embrace now that she didn't have to get up. That didn't last long, however, cos there was a knock on their bedroomdoor. And it wasn't Marie, cos they could still hear her talking to Aurora through the baby monitor.
Jean was there instead, dressed for work and about to leave. But before she'd go to the hospital she wanted to check on Logan, see how he was doing. Since Mystique and him weren't in the lounge anymore this morning, she figured he'd regained conciousness. So, with him in a state to answer questions, she could investigate the damage a little more.

Mystique groaned and reluctantly pulled away from his embrace. She stole a quick kiss from his lips as she walked over to the door. "Oh ..." She said, Jean being the last person she'd expected. "Hey, come in," She mumbled, stepping aside.

"Morning," Jean gave Mystique a brief smile as she stepped inside the bedroom. Logan had moved to a sitting position, his back against the headboard, his eyes on Jean as she entered, "Hey," She said, the hint of a blush on her face as she walked over. "I just wanted to see how you were doing."
"Alive and kicking," Logan told her.
"Can I run some tests?" Jean asked, opening her bag to take out some medical equipment.
"Be my guest." Logan watched her as she leaned over to him. She clicked on a small flashlight and checked whether his pupils still responded to the light. After a few seconds she clicked it off again, apparently content with the result, and asked him to focuss on the movement of her hand. She slowly moved her indexfinger from the left the right of his vision and back. After that, she fished a small stethoscope out of her bag and gave him a brief smile as she applied it to his chest. "This doesn't hurt, does it?" She asked while she listened to his heart, still thinking it was impossible that he hadn't broken any ribs.
"It tickles." Logan told her with a slight smirk.

Mystique leaned against the wall, arms folded over her chest as she watched Logan with Jean. She didn't approve of, the way she saw it at least, Logan flirting with the hot nurse. "Is he going to die?" She asked, raising an eyebrow since he was obviously sitting up fine and dandy, but if he wasn't dying, Mystique sure as hell was gonna kill him if he kept looking at the hot nurse like he was undressing her with his mind.

"No, he's not gonna die." Jean said, listening to the stethoscope a moment longer, her fingers pressing the device against Logan's chest. "Have you been having headaches?" She asked him, "Or dizziness, vomiting, nausea..?"
"Yeah, all of above," Logan told her. He couldn't exactly help looking at the hot nurse like he was undressing her with his mind, not the way she was leaning over him and giving him a good view of her cleavage. He noticed Mystique in the corner of his eyes though, eyebrow raised, looking far from amused. He tore his gaze of Jean's chest reluctantly.
"Okay.. how about blurred vision? Are your ears ringing? Have you been slipping back into unconsciousness?" Jean took the stethoscope off his chest, her gaze lingering on him a second longer than would be professional.
"Yeah, no and no." Logan replied all three.
"Amazing.." Jean mumbled under her breath. She glanced up, looking over to Mystique for a second before she adressed Logan again. "I mean, it's crazy. A fall like that should kill you, and all that's wrong with you is a mild concussion." She started putting things back into her bag.

"Maybe he's got a magical forcefield that surrounds him," Mystique rolled her eyes sarcastically. "Or maybe Magnetman didn't want to kill him, just ... give him enough of a fright to stay away. If he could stop your punch mid air, then who's the say he didn't protect your fall?" She shrugged.
A moment later, the door opened a little way and Lucy poked her head in nervously, afraid that she'd been sent in to say goodbye to her daddy. When she saw Logan sitting up in bed, she squealed. "DADDYYYYYYYY!" She ran to him, jumping on the bed.
"Be gentle, Luce," Mystique warned. Lucy put her arms around Logan's neck, avoiding touching his bloody bandaged chest and shoulder and hugging him tightly. She pulled her head back enough to plant a kiss on his cheek then went straight back to hugging him.

"Heya punkin," Logan hugged Lucy back, smirking a little at her occasional squeals of happiness.
Jean gave a vague, brief smile while she zipped her bag. "Whatever it was that saved you, you've been lucky." She told Logan, "All you have to do now is rest, get plenty of sleep at night. You can gradually return to normal activities, as long as the symptoms don't worsen."
"Got it. Thanks, doc," Logan told her with a smirk. Jean gave him a smile and left the room, to make it to work on time.
Logan turned his attention to Lucy, giving her a grin and ruffling up her already messy blonde hair. He was glad to see 'r, glad his prediction that he'd never hug his daughters again hadn't come true.
